I am motivated by, not envious of people that do better than me. However, I do pretty well. Better than many, actually. If anything, I'm grateful for this country and the chances I've been able to take advantage of to be successful and financially comfortable for my next couple of generations because of capitalism.

Totally disagree with a lot of the happenings in the Old Testament. Solomon used slaves freely to build his temples and extravagant buildings. King David was constantly raiding and killing Neighbors. It is a testament to the brutality of mankind.
There is good however in the development of the morality that Western Civilization relies on. The goodness of God and his Commandments are something we should all celebrate. As an atheist you probably wouldn't understand however.
