Your CCW doesn't cover EVERY state, so you would be forced to potentially go thousands of miles out of your way in order to be in compliance with a liberal state or municipal law that doesn't recognize it.

I don’t want the President to be able to give pardons to anyone. Theres a reason we have trials and due process.

We should still have pardons but not Presidential pardons. Get 3 judges (1st, 5th and 9th most senior) from the SCOTUS to review cases once a quarter and let them decide. If 2 of 3 vote yes; the guy gets pardoned.

The overwhelming majority of pardons, lately, have gone to political allies who were certainly not in any of those categories. Just two examples here; Hunter Biden being one of them...Trump’s 2016 campaign team being the other.

All the more reason we should get rid of the presidential pardon.

Clearly the answer was that it is a political calculation. Keep in mind he didn't overturn their convictions or set them free (the way Trump is going to) but they lived under the threat of lethal injection for years for no reason.
