Not a single Democrat appears for ACB meeting, GOP advances her nomination
"The Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday unanimously advanced the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett at its executive business meeting despite a decision by Democrats to boycott"
Political Butt-Hurt Theater:
Like hypocritical spoiled children who once again did not get their way, Democrats stormed out of the Judiciary Committee Meeting, refusing to vote to advance the nomination of USSC nominee ACB, a nominee who has become extremely popular / approved of by the American people.
Democrats have always counted on the GOP never doing what they themselves have done in the past, are doing now, and would have done in this case had the roles been reversed and they had the opportunity to put a judge on the USSC so close to this upcoming election. This time, the GOP played by the Democrats' rules and beat them at their own game.
To make matters even worse, the President and GOP did followed the guidance given by Ruth Bader Ginsburg, whose vacancy ACB will fill on the USSC if successfully voted in.
Justice Ginsburg declared if a USSC position is opened up it is a President's OBLIGATION to fill that vacancy as quickly as possible, even during an election year. 'A President does not stop being a President his 3rd year in office,', Ginsburg added.
And that is exactly what President Trump and the GOP are doing...while the politicians in the party she belonged to disrespect her by behaving like children in protest to her own opinion / 'ruling'.
Tells us again, snowflakes, how the Democrats would NBOT have done this, would NOT have made any move to fill the seat before the election. Oh wait - that's right. You CAN'T do that, as President Obama attempted to do the same exact thing.
Sweeter still than ACB's nomination advancing is that her confirmation vote will reportedly be held on Hillary's birthday.
Senate Judiciary Republicans advance Barrett nomination despite Democrats' boycott, committee rules
The Senate Judiciary Committee's vote to report Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett's out of committee is moving forward on Thursday, Republicans say, despite a declaration from Democrats that they will boycott the Thursday markup in protest of how close Republicans are moving the nomination...
