U.S. 15-Year-Olds Slip in Rankings on International Exams - WSJ.com

The results from the 2012 Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), which are being released on Tuesday, show that teenagers in the U.S. slipped from 25th to 31st in math since 2009; from 20th to 24th in science; and from 11th to 21st in reading, according to the National Center for Education Statistics, which gathers and analyzes the data in the U.S
Guys and girls, we're behind Spain, Italy, Russia, Portugal and the rest of the entire civilized world.

And there's one, and only one, reason why -- democrat-run Unions.

That simple, people.

The entire Educational Establishment in this country is a democrat-run organization.

There's just no denying it.

And the results are not unexpected

You obviously haven't worked with non-Americans who have more than their fair share of below average IQs.

That reminds me of a funny story which I think just might be true.

Apparently, President Eisenhower was shocked to learn that half of all Americans had an IQ that tested as being below average.
So, only Americans are subject to Intelligence Quotient testing?

I believe you're the only one who thinks you're funny

Just like any collection of people.
That's why it drives me up the wall when Wall Street CEOs, dependent upon their multi-million dollar bonuses, ask for more business-visas from India because ALL Indians are geniuses.

They dont win with that tactic either. They are kind of just shooting themselves in the feet without realizing it.

I hate to shoot holes in your thesis but it's generally the Republicans who have little respect for education.

It's from all the dumbass right wingers. They teach their kids that fox news in the only place they need to learn from and their school is nothing but a communist/socialist/muslim brainwashing center, and to ignore everything they tell them.

Based on what exactly? The fact that we want people to know how to read? The fact that we want people to be able to explore and learn on their own without the government telling them everything? The fact that we recognize there are more ways to educate oneself than in the public school system?

Seriously, I'd love to see your reasoning behind this

I was just watching Obabble giving a speech about the ACA with a bunch of morons standing behind him in various states of awe.

It made me sick....not sure if that is covered under my health plan....

Several observations over the years. Infatuation with borderline retarded ignoramuses like Sarah Palin and Rick Perry, the accusation that university studies that contradict the conservative perspective are intellectual elitism, the Texas board of education selecting textbooks that put creationism on equal (if not greater) footing with evolution...
