Democrats are searching for their next leader.

They are, in a word, rudderless.

Democrats themselves have lost confidence in their leadership. No one among them could win a presidential election. They're getting old, and there are no heirs apparent.

Democrats are in the same position Republicans were in back in 2012, after the Neo-Cons. Remember? There were 16 "top" Republicans in the 2016 primary, all the big names... Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, Mario... No one was particularly generating any excitement.

The Republican party is very fortunate Donald Trump came along when he did. They'd be broke and out of a job without Trump. Maybe the Democrats will find someone like that too. Maybe even a populist.

The democraps made the fatal mistake of thinking short term to win elections, without regard to long term consequences. They probably thought in the short term using Identity Politics they could get a massive majority in congress to the point where they could just write laws that keep them in power forever, but it didn't work out. Now they have a party that no one likes, believes or trusts. They are actually in much worse condition now than the GOP in 2016. And their many factions within the party will never allow an outsider like Trump to win a primary. Look what they did with Sanders in 2016 and 2020.

The best thing that can happen to America is that another party, fully embracing the America First doctrine, rises to challenge the GOP MAGA. We need two or more parties who are dedicated to making America the best that it can be and the candidates that have better ideas win. Imagine that, two or more parties fighting over who is doing more to benefit the middle class while making America more resilient with a higher standard of living.

He's more of a "mascot". :laughing0301:

NYC can become a Disney-style theme park. They can call it "Commietown, USA, a Village of Idiots."

I tried to imagine what the rides would be like in such a theme park, by using AI.

But AI was not amused...

AI Overview

"Commietown" is not a widely known or formally defined term. The word is a colloquial, pejorative compound of the derogatory slang "commie" (short for "communist") and "town".

Its usage implies a place perceived as being highly sympathetic to or run by communists or those with far-left ideologies. The term is generally used in a derogatory or critical context, often in political rhetoric or social media commentary.

Specific references in search results suggest it has been used recently in political commentary relating to New York City and a local representative, implying a criticism of perceived liberal or left-leaning policies in that area."

I'm afraid there is a lot of truth to this, however... if this shutdown goes on much longer, and those 40+ million Americans who depend on SNAP benefits to survive begin to go hungry; it won't take a strong leader to vault the Dem's back into power.

The GOP controls Congress and the Whitehouse - who do you think those 40+ million folks are going to blame for this!??:45:

She's one of their "Best and brightest" idiots in the bunch. :laughing0301:
You are right, she is perfect!!

Will she first take the Senate seat of Chucky Cheese and then run for President or just go straight to trying to be President?

Don't believe the democrap narratives, there are a lot of influencers on social media who are explaining to these 42 million people that Trump has nothing to do with this, and all the republicans are voting to open the federal government and all the democrats are fighting to keep it closed. The spin machine for the democraps is now nowhere near as good as it was in the past. It is almost getting sad to see them try to spin stuff that even those with room temperature IQs know is false and stupid.

The Democratic Party lost credibility with sane people by enforcing the cult of "identity politics" and absurd social ideas. The Republican Party has achieved the same with its cult of personality regarding Trump. It is interesting how similar the "approval" ratings are for each of these parties and for the President. Only around 40% are prepared to express a positive opinion of any of these. That leaves an overwhelming majority that wants nothing to do with them.
The only qualifications required of any Democratic candidate for President is that he/she not be Trump. Thus, the Republicans have assured that the person the most under the control of the ideologues they claim to oppose will be presented. Meanwhile, the Democrats have nothing more to do than run against Trump. Voters remain addicted to the duopoly's manipulation. They do nothing to force Congress to do its job. The real culprit is laziness on the part of the electorate.

Yep. I don't see a thing right now.

If someone does emerge, and if they just continue with the same crap that brought us Trumpism, they may as well just pack it in now.

When your best electoral hope is just pointing at the other party and saying "Wow, look at that!", you're not in very good shape.

Most people just don't like the American government and think it is hopelessly corrupt. I am one of them. During Obama, and especially during the 2016 election with Hillary Clinton, most people were so fed up with status quo establishment politics that they were desperate for anything but. People on the left and on the right don't want to admit that in 2016 Trump was the "**** you" vote to the government. Over time he became popular because he actually tried to do what he campaigned on despite enormous pushback from the establishment. Many people believe the democraps/establishment stole the 2020 election from him and then mercilessly attacked him continuously through the 2024 election and this actually caused people to respect his tenacity and conviction. Today he is still doing what he campaigned on. I wouldn't call his support a cult, he earned it over time from people who don't like the government. Most people don't like him as a person, but they respect him as a leader. Today the democraps are still the establishment party and are hopelessly corrupt and are making no effort to climb out of this situation. Get Trump! and But Trump! aren't working yet they refuse to change. Strip away the emotions and the propaganda and anyone can see that this is the naked truth.

Difficult to disagree with much of this. 2016 was very much a rejection of the duopoly, though not a very constructive one. Unfortunately, the system is rigged for the two parties that have seized power. No matter what they offer, however undesirable, voters continue to act as if there were no alternative.

Two parties creates a duopoly and the mess that America is in right now. I think most people will be surprised to know that Switzerland has over 20 political parties for a country of 9 million. Why does a country as vast and heterogeneous as America, with 350+ million, only have two? Is it because the rich in America can only afford 2 parties and really just want one? If the entrenched two parties suck, we should force the government to accept a third, and a fourth, and a fifth party until everyone is better represented.

Fetterman is the only Democrat I could support.

Hey, as long as she brings that leg show when mixing My drink. Of course, a 30-year-old scotch over one ice cube may be beyond her ability, so that may be a wash.
