Democratic Republican lawmakers now call for Judge Fuller s res - WSFA.com Montgomery Alabama news.

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
Two Alabama lawmakers are calling for Federal Judge Mark Fuller to resign and a third isn't ruling out the possibility of impeachment. Fuller was arrested in Atlanta back in August on domestic violence charges.

Wednesday, U.S. Representative Terri Sewell (D-District 7) and Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL) called on Fuller to resign.

Rep. Martha Roby (R-District 2) says Fuller's possible impeachment should not be ruled out, but she has not at this point called for him to resign. "As a society, we cannot tolerate domestic violence. When abusers are not held accountable, it serves to indirectly condone the crime and has a chilling effect on victims," Rep. Roby said.

In a 911 recording you can hear a woman reported to be Judge Fuller's wife pleading for help. The police report says Fuller pulled his wife's hair, threw her to the ground, dragged her around and hit her in the mouth several times.

"She said that she's in a domestic fight and I can hear him hitting her now," the operator said during the call.
