Are they? When AOC, a dedicated socialist/advocate for socialism is considered the front runner/leader in the Democrat Party these days you have to wonder about that. That she is seen that way is just a huge illustration of how pathetically thin their bench actually is.

But despite PC's best efforts to reform them, the Democrats think by being even more radically left, crazy, angry, vindictive, maliciously proactive, they can redeem their former glory. And that includes things like defending the crazy communist in New York, exalting people like AOC, i.e. endorsing socialism.

The one real advantage the Democrats have over the Republcans is that no matter how intellectually dishonest, how corrupt, how disingenuous, how wrong, how dangerous they have to be, they pretty much stick together and speak with one groupthink voice.

Because Republicans disagree on various issues and allow such honest disagreement, they sometimes split their ranks to the point the Democrats are given a strong advantage.
