Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.​

It's right there, in black and white, in the First Amendment to our nation's Constitution; and incorporated under the Fourteenth Amendment to all lesser levels of government as well. The people have a right to peaceably assemble, and collect signatures on a petition.

There is and can be no excuse whatsoever for Mayor Deccio's behavior in this matter. She has openly, willfully, deliberately attacked the First Amendment rights of the very people that she is supposed to serve and represent. She should be, at the very least, removed from office for this offense.

Even if you could make a case for violating that right of a person in a position of political power, there is no case you can make to justify doing that to all his neighbors as well, who are not party to whatever dispute the criminals “protesters” may think they have with the politician, and who don't deserve to have their own homes and neighborhoods disrupted.

What it explicitly affirms is a right to peaceably assemble.

Disrupting people's right to enjoy peace and security in their own homes, in their own neighborhoods, is not peaceable, and therefore not Constitutionally protected.

Courts already have ruled Democrats violated the 1st Amendment. Hasn’t phased the fascists one bit.

It appears Washington state law says this is legal, so there isn't anything Walmart can do short of a court order. The irony here is that given the Democratic Party has controlled Washington state government for a long time they probably put this law into place to protect their own canvassers and now it's being used against them.

Petitions are fine when you want to keep a conservative speaker from speaking at a University and fine when you want to protect illegal aliens and looters but when a liberal politician is involved all of a sudden petitions are evil. No surprises here.
