Bui Van Phu, a registered sex offender on a life-time parole, was just walking the streets of NYC when he decided to sucker punch a stranger into a coma. We've all seen the video and it's a bit gross to be posting. The NYPD charged Bui with attempted murder, but Bronx prosecutors downgraded the charge to a misdemeanor assault and harassment, no-bail violations, leading to his release Thursday. Hochul evidently needed a victory lap and had Bui arrested on a parole violation. That "may" put him in prison for 6-24 months. And you wonder why so many cities are so screwed up.

They don't call her "the accidental governor" for nothing...

I suppose they want to be governed by the equivalent of feral animals.... they're getting exactly what they deserve.

Here in Texas, that convict is likely to catch a large caliber round in the throat and entertain the crowd with 30 seconds of violent death throes until it expires.

I still do not understand why he wasn't "violated" (parole wise) when he was in the slammer the first time. His parole officer could have sought the order.

Maybe NY laws are different but in Virginia he could have been ordered held without bail pending a parole hearing as the felony he was first convicted of would have sufficed to hold him.....The currents charges would not matter even after they were downgraded since violence was involved.
