The NYT has published an editorial putting a lie to the trump narrative created about his term as prez titled,
DONALD TRUMP'S FIRST TERM IS A WARNING
Opinion | Donald Trump’s First Term Is a Warning
Republicans have tried to rewrite the four years of Trump’s presidency as a time of unparalleled peace, prosperity and tranquility: “the strongest economy in history,” as Senator Katie Britt of Alabama put it during the Republican National Convention. The difference between Trump and Biden? “President Trump honored the Constitution,” said Gov. Kristi Noem of South Dakota. Gov. Glenn Youngkin of Virginia offered Mr. Trump’s first term as an example of “common-sense conservative leadership.”
The record of what Mr. Trump actually did in office bears little resemblance to that description. Under his leadership, the country lurched from one crisis to the next, from the migrant families separated at the border to the sudden spike in prices caused by his trade war with China to the reckless mismanagement of the Covid pandemic. And he showed, over and over, how little respect he has for the Constitution and those who take an oath to defend it.
It's essentially a damning timeline of his years as prez.
In the first month of his presidency he had his press secretary lie about the size of his inaugural crowd (who knew the lies to come would make it seem insignificant by comparison). He tried to end federal funding to sanctuary cities while trying to ramp up deportations. He enacted the Muslim ban, rejected by the courts, until it was modified. And he named nihilist Steve Bannon, who advocated for the dismantling of the "administrative state," to the National Security Council. Followed on Feb. 15, 2017 by abandoning the two decades long policy of a two state solution over Palestine. An awesome decision that has brought peace to the region.
March 4, trump falsely accuses Obama on tapping Don's phones.
May 9, trump fires Comey, immediately followed by his admin telling a series of conflicting lies as to why Comey was fired. Eventually settling on trying to make Rod Rosenstein the scapegoat until trump admits it was done because of the "Russia thing."
May 10, trump reveals classified info to Russian officials in the Oval Office, jeopardizing a planned joint operation against ISIS.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump disclosed highly classified information to Russia's foreign minister about a planned Islamic State operation, two U.S. officials said on Monday, plunging the White House into another controversy just months into Trump's short tenure in office.
The intelligence, shared at a meeting last week with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak, was supplied by a U.S. ally in the fight against the militant group, both officials with knowledge of the situation said.
MAGAists lost their minds over Hillary violating State Dept. protocols over her use of a private server. After exhaustive investigations it was determined no classified info was accessed by foreign entities and that the treatment of classified info was sloppy but not intentionally so. OTOH, trump straight up gave classified info to high ranking members of the Russian government while bragging about the quality of the intel he receives. For the same MAGAists, no big deal.
