Over 1,900 Iranian Warfighters Killed in Ongoing Strikes, Israel Says.
Rojoef Manuel • March 10, 2026.
Israel has revealed that more than 1,900 of Tehran’s troops and commanders have been killed since the start of the conflict, as airstrikes continue across Iran.
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin announced the figure, adding that thousands of others have been wounded in the campaign.
“We have many more targets; it is an ongoing effort, and we are deepening the blows to all levels of the regime,” The Times of Israel quoted him as saying.
Recent Operations.
According to the IDF, Israeli warplanes have struck military sites across Iran’s capital, Tehran, the central city of Isfahan, and southern regions since the start of the offensive in late February.
Attacks included six Iranian military airports and aircraft linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force.
Those strikes destroyed 16 transport aircraft allegedly used to move weapons and funding to Iran-backed groups across the Middle East, Ynet News reported.
Operations have also expanded to Lebanon, where the IDF reported striking more than 700 Hezbollah targets.
In Beirut, Israeli airstrikes targeted 35 high-rise buildings used by the group.
Meanwhile, Israeli officials confirmed that a second person died from an Iranian missile strike, raising the total civilian death toll in Israel from Iranian attacks to 12.
Two Israeli soldiers were also killed in clashes with the Iran-backed Shia Islamist paramilitary in Lebanon.
Reaction to New Supreme Leader.
The update comes amid US President Donald Trump’s disagreement with the naming of Iran’s latest supreme leader, Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, after the killing of his father and predecessor, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
When asked whether Israel could target the new leader, Defrin did not rule it out.
“Anyone who poses a threat will be struck,” Xinhua quoted Defrin as saying.
