Yep....Eli Roth is going to release the new "Death Wish" in November. The original movie was about a man who loses his wife to violent criminals, and becomes a vigilante. This new movie follows the same theme and the social justice bullies are already wetting their pants, clutching their stuffed animals and looking for their Play Doh and crayons.......

SJWs Already Screaming Racist! Fascist! -- 'Death Wish' Remake Puts Vigilante Willis In Hoodie

Although the trailer for director Eli Roth's remake of Charles Bronson's iconic 1974 urban thriller Death Wish was released only minutes ago, and the film itself will not hit screens or be seen by critics until November, already the intolerant Left is screaming bloody murder and hurling outright lies.

Who knows what Roth's final product will look like. But outside of already offending all the right people, Roth's trailer is hands-down awesome and Willis hasn't appeared this must-see in more than a decade.

---------

In fact, in all five of the original Death Wish entries the primary villains are white. In the one that started it all, the hoodlums who murder Kersey's wife and rape his daughter are white (good grief you can't get any whiter than Jeff Goldblum). The street gang that finishes off Kersey's family in part two (one of the greatest movies ever made) are of mixed race. In part three, the gang is also mixed, but the leader, the arch-villain, is so white he has freckles.

In chapters four and five, the action moves from street gangs to white mobsters and corrupt tycoons.

Anyway, here is the most pathetic take, courtesy of leftwing film critic Scott Mendelson:

One obvious factor stirring up all these crybabies is the decision to put vigilante Paul Kersey (Willis) in a hoodie as he hunts himself down some street thugs. As we all know, after the justified self-defense shooting of Trayvon Martin at the hands of George Zimmerman, the hoodie (which Martin was wearing at the time of his death) is now an iconic symbol embraced by social justice warriors.

Basically, in the hopes of elevating Martin into a leftwing martyr, the Left and their media allies portrayed the Hispanic Zimmerman as a blood-thirsty white guy hunting down young black men in hoodies. And there is no question that Roth's decision to use this symbol is intentional and deliberately (and deliciously) provocative.

Moreover, in what can only be described as a major slap in the face to failed Democrat Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Roth moved the location of his remake from New York to Chicago. More than a slap in the face, it is also an acknowledgment of reality. Just as New York was seen as a dying city consumed by violence in 1974, so it is with Chicago today.

NO remakes of already fantastic films should be allowed, they should be outlawed, the original "Death Wish" is MEGA and Charles Bronson cannot be replaced.

Whe the original movie came out in the late 1970's crime in NYC went down because criminals thought they could be shot like in the movie. The SJW don't want this movie to come out, because then it could give ideas to concerned citizens who see SJW burning up stuff, or punching women and it is being filmed in Chicago, hell they can go to the southside and find extra's dirt cheap. I cant wait till it comes out, I will watch it a few times, to show my approval....

Death Wish

I think it was a mistake to cast Bruce Willis. The point that made the original Death Wish impactful was that though Charles Bronson was a popular actor, he looked like what he was playing, an architect with a pretty normal life. Bruce Willis looks like a tough guy.....I don't think that was the way to go. They should have had a normal, bland looking actor in the lead.......that way when he becomes a vigilante it would mean more....

Eli Roth was the wrong director......it looks like he made an action film rather than a serious drama.....

I enjoyed the original Death Wish film with Charles Bronson, however, if any remake can be made and done better than the original, I'm all for it.
As for the leftists, they won't be happy with Hollywood until it only makes movies sanctioned by the far-left (a typical communist stance on filming).

They just did a remake of "The Magnificent Seven" and while the action scenes are superior to the original, the character development, including the townspeople is substantially inferior to the original.

I would prefer a movie about an average guy who gets pushed too far.....rather than becoming Rambo, he simply does what you might expect of a normal person who goes down that road.....but with Bruce Willis, it looks like Eli Roth is going for a shoot em up.......especially the seen with the rifle......

The only acceptable plot of a movie for an SJW would be one where the film involves a group of millennials sitting around in a circle and spending two hours bashing the freedom of speech that differs from theirs and how oppressed minorities are by old white dudes.:boohoo:

This captures what is wrong with the trailer and likely the movie...

A remake for our time: "Death Wish," starring Bruce Willis - Hot Air

The point of the original “Death Wish” was that a law-abiding nebbish could plausibly be driven to homicidal vengeance by the sheer volume of violent scumbags plaguing civil society. Paul Kersey was pushed to the brink and over it by criminals preying on his wife and daughter. You don’t cast hyper-competent action-hero alpha male Bruce Willis in a role like that; you cast someone like Jesse Eisenberg or Jake Gyllenhaal, an average guy conditioned towards passivity who’s forced to empower himself to cope with the threats around him. “Death Wish” is supposed to be harrowing. Does this trailer feel harrowing? Or does it feel like a pretext for Willis to do his usual “Die Hard” thing, beating the piss out of villains for whatever reason?

“Back in Black” is a particularly bad choice. That’s music to strut to, something you’d hear in a paint-by-numbers action-hero flick because you know the star’s in total control of his environment and won’t break a sweat in bending it to his supremely confident will. “Death Wish” is the opposite of that. The film’s atmosphere should be humid with anxiety. Not to get too hot take-y myself, but the difference between this and the original feels like the difference between Hollywood 1974 and Hollywood today. Then, even a Charles Bronson shoot-em-up aspired to cultural commentary. Now, it’s hard rock and superheroes all the way down.

Ed Norton might have worked....

And, in fact, that seems to be the main issue for the snowflakes. Bruce Willis is an old white dude. So this "isn't the right time", they snivel.

Here's a typical "social media" mediodrity:

Eli Roth's Death Wish remake is so nakedly fascist that alt-righters will have an erection before the trailer ends

Here's the trailer (in which the black people are victims or innocent and the criminals are white):

The SJW nuts are crying because it's very pro-second Amendment. Not sure why they are picking out this movie, plenty of movies glorify guns and killing thugs.
Maybe just the actual scene of him buying a gun is what drives them insane.

Agreed, wholeheartedly.

Remakes are invariably inferior to the original.

Remake movies that failed originally, and make them better, not ruin those that were already successful.

No remake EVER was better or even as good as the original.
