January 11th, 2008: New Zealand mountain climber and explorer Sir Edmund Hillary—who, with the Tibetan mountaineer Tenzing Norgay, was the first to summit Mount Everest—died.

Here's why he is important, historically.

May 29, 1953 Edmund Hillary & Tenzing Norkay climb Mt. Everest...
...After years of dreaming about it and seven weeks of climbing, New Zealander Edmund Hillary and Nepalese Tenzing Norgay reached the top of Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world, at 11:30 a.m. on May 29, 1953.Who Were the First to Reach the Top of Mount Everest?

Then, there's this....the reason he is important in American politics.

...., the most transparent lie told by a politician:

"On a first-lady goodwill tour of Asia in April 1995—the kind of banal trip that she now claims as part of her foreign-policy "experience"—Mrs. Clinton had been in Nepal and been briefly introduced to the late Sir Edmund Hillary, conqueror of Mount Everest. Ever ready to milk the moment, she announced that her mother had actually named her for this famous and intrepid explorer. The claim "worked" well enough to be repeated at other stops and even showed up in Bill Clinton's memoirs almost a decade later, as one more instance of the gutsy tradition that undergirds the junior senator from New York.

Clinton was born in 1947, and Sir Edmund Hillary and his partner Tenzing Norgay did not ascend Mount Everest until 1953, so the story was self-evidently untrue and eventually yielded to fact-checking.

For Sen. Clinton, something is true if it validates the myth of her striving and her "greatness" (her overweening ambition in other words) and only ceases to be true when it no longer serves that limitless purpose. "
The case against Hillary Clinton. - By Christopher Hitchens - Slate Magazine

Why tell a lie?

Hillary: Because it's there...

Remember the ol' joke about the Clintons....How can you tell they're lying? 'Cause their lips are moving.

Actually, there is a deeper understanding of the Left, going back to Sorel....

"Georges Eugène Sorel (2 November 1847 in Cherbourg – 29 August 1922 in Boulogne-sur-Seine) was a French philosopher and theorist of revolutionary syndicalism. His notion of the power of myth in people's lives inspired Marxists and Fascists, it is, together with his defense of violence, the contribution for which he is most often remembered." Georges Sorel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"His identification of the need for a deliberately-conceived "myth" to sway crowds into concerted action was put to use by the Fascist and Communist movements of the 1920s and after. " Georges Sorel
http://www.newschool.edu/nssr/het/profiles/sorel.htm

Considered a father of syndicalism, early socialism, fascism and progressivism, his contribution was the idea of the believable, motivational lie, or myth.

You see, the Left has not the same connection with either truth or reality that we on the right have...cases in point include Hillary Clinton, Hussein Obama, and every Democrat candidate for President.

Products of branding and marketing.

How anyone can listen to Bill or Hillary for more than 30 seconds without seeing right through it is utterly beyond me.

Or she believed something she was told as a child... until she found out it wasn't accurate.

On the one hand, the Democrats are lucky to have you attempting to shield them from opprobrium....

....on the other hand, they need someone with more than a double-digit IQ....

So, your defense of the career criminal is that she had no name for the first six years of her life?

Actually, when discussing your IQ, it should be written in lower case.

Or her parents told her something when she was 8 or 10.... and she took it at face value.

Now that genealogy is a thing, we all end up finding things out about our families that contradict what our parents told us.

Well.....I must admit, my parents told me I was brilliant....

....and, sure enough!

You really think cutting and pasting other people's thoughts makes you brilliant?

Time for another lesson???

No prob.....

'Cut & Paste' is a perfectly valid means of presenting and documenting material. Your whining about it is simply based on your inability to combat the content.

That's the truth...isn't it.

I hear that a lot from those who don't have the background and education that I have, and, hence, are unable to draw on the vast compendium of knowledge, and array of sources, that I have. That's your real gripe.....isn't it.
Each day I provide undeniable facts that lead to an irrefutable conclusion. Hence, an education that government school and the media hide.

I recognize that, not having had the educational opportunities- and, let's be honest, the ability- that I have, you are unable to draw on the vast background that I can.

So, of course you cannot construct the sort of unassailable posts that I do.

Sad to be you, huh?

The Hildabeast lies all the time. I don't think she's capable of telling the truth. Beyond dreadful.

Well.....let's give him credit for where he is correct.

He is always angry because of his self-loathing, deeply hurt by how poorly his life has turned out......

....and he couldn't be more correct about that.

Well...it has worked to this extend: so far, she has avoided the orange jumpsuit that she deserves for selling out the United States....

The Biden's learned from a master.

Honey, it isn't if you don't offer any original thoughts and ignore valid questions put to you. Which is your schtick. I make jokes about you being some weird Japanese Sex Robot because frankly, it almost seems like you operate on algorithms than actually participate in a conversation. Hell, you can't even tell when you are being insulted.

Does explain the sunglasses, though.

It's really the best you can do, isn't it.

We both know that my threads are like catnip to you.....you'll be back, and I will decide both the topic of discussion, and whether you deserve an answer.

Always.

Hillary only said it so she could get the Edmund Hillary vote

I have some of my best people looking into this birth certificate issue, they can’t believe what they are finding.

Turns out she was born in Nepal and her real name is Norgay
