What is wrong with Mr. Trump?
In a Truth Social post, Trump doubled down on his claim that Letitia James drove ExxonMobil out of New York. According to the Houston Chronicle, ExxonMobil, then named Standard Oil, left New Jersey in 1989, over 30 years ago. Attorney General James took office in 2019.
The 1989 date of ExxonMobil moving its headquarters makes it impossible to blame James. James would have to be a time traveler and be willing to go outside of her New York jurisdiction to New Jersey for Trump’s claim to be possibly true.
