It was a pleasant read if not overly pensive…but then again sometimes it's just nice to pick up a book for fun. Fun is probably what characterizes this work….more so than anything profoundly societal. It’s almost as if someone took Hugh Downs, Barbara Billingsley and Jerry Mathers and spray painted them black.

The earnestness of the Author is present at all times even if her connection to reality is not. But hey….like I said sometimes its just nice to have fun while your perusing what is being presented to you as a serious work. Also present is the tortured effort to continuously set up the Chess board with White and Black pieces. Unfortunately for a work that seeks to traverse the opaqueness of racial sensitivities such predictability tends to obscure the real issues and adds an almost cartoon-ish caricature to the effort.

All in all I would recommend it but caution the reader to be a bit more broad minded in their world view than the Author wants you to be.
