WSSC is trying to keep the pipes from bursting, and it hasn't really been cold for long yet. To be fair, the infrastructure is so old and bad there it's a wonder they can keep things going at all. In 1973 I was working for local #26 in DC running power and conduit for the new subway ( like everyone else), and the tunnels had to move water, waste, steam, and electrical lines that looked like they were stone age. I think they are just patching things now. "We are working round the clock to restore pressure". We don't want anyone getting the shits, and we're sorry we can't do anything about the ATM machine thefts, gang shootings, carjackings, youth assaults and murders, or drug overdoses, but let's get the faucets on first. Home rule rules.
