Day 2: nobody's starved

I have to take a trip to Publix this afternoon for dog food. I wonder if I am in danger of the poors stealing my purchases in the parking lot.

Maybe they won't need to feed their pets, if they get hungry enough.

Technically they can't. But there are ways. Burger joints do have signs EBT accepted here. Anything is possible?
Most states have no limits on what they purchase.

In 2026, a bunch of states are outlawing soda, candy, and shit like Twinkies.

Iowa is the best. Anything no subjected to state tax is eligible….meat, dairy, fruits, vegetables…

I did not know until yesterday….

SNAP benefits "aka the gravy train" came to an end yesterday (at least, the federally funded benefits did). States have had to step up and perhaps - will even have to eliminate a bit of their bureaucracy in order to keep payments flowing.

As best I can tell:
1. Nobody has starved yet (despite doom and gloom predicted from the democrats)

2. Chuck Schumer is still responsible for this government shutdown.

I suppose I was used to CA denial purchase of junk foods.

I had always seen seperate groups of items by people in the checkout. EBT stuff first. Then a pile ogmf "good stuff" lol! To be paid in cash.

Wow! Those other states. Wow! So many. No wonder I saw those signs "EBT accepted" in other states for hamburger and fries.

.

I haven't even seen any evidence of any benefits stopping.

We were shopping one day at the grocery store in our little town and we happened to get into a conversation with an old guy in one of the aisles. While conversing, this gent told us that he "had money" but he always made a point of going by the food bank and getting whatever groceries that they had that were on his list before going to the store. He said he saved a lot that way. It never dawned on me that anyone would do that. SMH. These are the types of things that prompt me to oppose public assistance.

I knew someone who was fairly well off, who utilized food banks, but did not get EBT. If I'd known which food banks he used, I'd have reported him in a hot minute.
