Obama was elected to the office he holds, twice. The majority of voters selected him as their leader. Scalise was elected by one district in one state. He was appointed by his party to an important leadership position. His appointment is the very definition of partisan crony politics. The nation is voicing it's dissatisfaction with the results of that kind of partisan crony politics and the Republican leadership that made the blunder and got caught does not have the courage or character to admit they made a mistake. Taking responsibility is not a Republican trait. What about Obama? They may be racist but they aren't leaders in the House of Representatives. It doesn't even make a difference that a congressperson is or is not accused of being a racist, bigot, asshole or whatever. It counts when the party makes the person a leader and symbol of the party.
