They are free to shoplift, and face the consequences. So thugs should be free to shoplift?
As are drug addicts who violate controlled substances laws. They can use and face the consequences---both personal and legal. They are free to shoplift, and face the consequences.
True enough but making, what I'd consider a victimless action, unlike shoplifting, into a crime serves no useful purpose. IMHO.As are drug addicts who violate controlled substances laws. They can use and face the consequences---both personal and legal.
So murder, rape, burglary, smuggling, human trafficking, slavery and assault as a result of or in support of drug addiction is victimless in your mind eh?True enough but making, what I'd consider a victimless action, unlike shoplifting, into a crime serves no useful purpose. IMHO.
addiction isn't freedom.Freedom is making your own choices, for good or ill.
Is that Ebonics? It sure beats being a dick like MAGATs be.
How much of that crime is due to high cost of illegal drugs? So murder, rape, burglary, smuggling, human trafficking, slavery and assault as a result of or in support of drug addiction is victimless in your mind eh?
The “for your own good” syndrome is Way out of control.Providing free rehab due to addiction is not. I am in favor of free rehab if it comes as a condition of incarceration. Again, you believe in a nanny state, I don't. That won't change. BTW, can you show me where a nanny state is provided for in the constitution?
Irrelevant as is made clearly obvious in states that have legalized illicit drugs. Taxes just make up for it. You also have nothing to base your assertion that crime has to do with costs of drugs. Nineteenth century history would also prove you wrong. Ever hear of opium dens and the deaths and crimes that were spawned from them? How much of that crime is due to high cost of illegal drugs?
I've heard of opium dens but never anything about the deaths and crimes that were spawned from them. Please enlighten me.Irrelevant as is made clearly obvious in states that have legalized illicit drugs. Taxes just make up for it. Not everyone who uses drugs is homeless.
Apparently you haven't heard of them or you would know.I've heard of opium dens but never anything about the deaths and crimes that were spawned from them. Please enlighten me.

Thanks for this important and pertinent image of USA's habitual hypocrisy.
