In a Republic, actually
‘Trump has again insisted that he won't be touching Social Security benefits, alongside Medicare and Medicaid, and instead will be looking to remove "tremendous fraud" from the system.

Why It Matters

Social Security benefits are a vital source of income for tens of millions of Americans. An estimated 53 million retirees—roughly 16 percent of the population—were collecting monthly payments at the end of 2024.

Meanwhile, Medicaid is the largest program providing medical and health-related services to low-income individuals, and Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people aged 65 or older, and for some younger individuals with certain disabilities or conditions.

The president's update also comes after the House Republicans' budget, which critics believed would result in the "gutting" of Medicaid, was passed in the House, ramping up the concerns that the new administration would make major cuts to the health program.’

The ludicrous notion of a criminal president and pathological liar with 34 felony fraud convictions looking for ‘fraud’ – we’re supposed to believe that Trump would veto legislation with cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

More baloney from the facediaper sausage factory.
312-226....America knows who is really out to kill social security.....

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

President Trump and DOGE have NO POWER TO DO ANYTHING TO SS OR MEDICARE! Jesus ******* Christ, why is this such a difficult concept to understand?

They are not part of the budget, but are funded separately through payroll taxes. I understand why Leftist "influencers" lie about this, but NO LITERATE AMERICAN should be fooled by this bullshit.

As for Medicaid, Biden expanded it to cover people who are too lazy to work. Those people might be getting a surprise. Otherwise, Medicaid is primarily a State matter, with funding support from the Feds.

SSA (SS Retirement, SS Disability, Medicare) are on budget from an administrative standpoint. Benefits are paid from FICA taxes, however administrative functions (employees, infrastructure, buildings, computer systems, etc.) are on budget.

So two things:

#1 DOGE could come in and cut employees. For example the recently announced plans to come 7,000 employees. This impacts beneficiaries due to longer processing times and reduced responsiveness for issues.

#2 DOGE could change services covered to reduce payouts. For example, under the Trump Administration is allowing Telehealth services (which impact mostly rural areas BTW) to expire (in general). Reducing the utilization of health services because they aren't covered is a method to reduce expenditures.

He can arbitrarily cut the workforce and claim there will be no impact on services

You dont seem to appreciate that America does not have an unlimited credit card

Spending cannot continue to go up any longer

We have to reduce spending

Republicans complained for a decade about poor service in the Veterans Administration. As a result we invested in the VA to expand and modernize.

Trump is cutting 80,000 jobs (1 in 6) and claiming there will be no impact on veterans.

How long will the public buy his…..I am only cutting workers who do nothing lies

We have to reduce spending

Then don’t slash taxes either

I'll make a deal, eliminate Trump's tax cuts that mostly advantaged the wealthy (revenue side which contributed to the debt) and let's take a measured control reduction in spending (to balance the budget and start reducing the debt).

I'm on board.

Clinton actually reduced the federals work force with targeted costs, separation incentives, early retirement, and with logical applications that didn't impact performance.

Musk's Chainsaw approach doesn't cut it.

Trumps tax cuts raised tax revenue/. Trumps tax cuts benefited the working class the most

Which the left hates

If lower taxes do not result in less revenue to the federal treasury you would have a point

But lower taxes - within reason - normally mean the same or even more income to the government

Spending is the problem
The old “all tax cuts pay for themselves” lie

The wealthy pay most of the federal income tax

The poor pay almost none

So tax cit fo benefit the wealthy more as they shood

But the middle class are the 2nd largest group of taxpayers and they get part of the tax cut too

Trump added 7-8 TRILLION to the debt because if his tax cuts.

I'm for addressing BOTH the revenue and spending side. Is it true that you want ignore the revenue side and just claim it's all due to spending?
