I've been talking about this guy for months. He describes himself as the "sith lord" of the right and calls democracy obsolete. He favors a theocratic monarchy instead. FYI he advises candidates - like Blake Masters and JD Vance - that share his beliefs.

If a comparison is what you are doing, the Romans had every interest in eliminating Carthage. The Romans, despite their pagan brutality in some areas, focused on the importance of and centrality of the family and never practiced human sacrifice. The Carthaginians, however, focused on wealth, luxury, pleasure, and most certainly practiced child sacrifice. Certainly today's Carthaginans could be democrats especially in the area of child sacrifice.
