An interesting thought piece on the weapon of choice for surviving in the Walking Dead.....is a crossbow better than an AR-15, or a Colt Python revolver....?

Like everything else, what you have on you is the best versus not having anything at all.

staff

you can run out of ammo for the others

Since they are the walking dead I prefer my legs. I can still run, that's the best weapon.

Definitely not.

Crossbows are not very accurate and they are limited to short-range use.

And depending on they type of bolt used, will they even penetrate the skull of a human to stop a zombie? A broadhead, sure, but how long could you keep using it...and any wood ones you made on your own, Would those be able to penetrate to turn off a zombie? And during a herd encounter? Reloading would take a bit of time facing more than one zombie in a tight space...

He mentions Michone's Sword...but hitting a skull with a blade, is going to get that blade stuck....and it may be easy to lop off a head in the t.v. show, but try that on an actual body with all of it's contours and it won't be so easy....

Long term, a crossbow, unless you have the equipment and ability to press more ammo.

Because, as anyone knows who watches the show, zombies are the least of your post-apocalyptic worries, the AR is the best tool for dealing with packs of roving cannibals, raiders, and Democrats.

Python for up close, AR for out far. Crossbow bolts don't have the stopping power.

Or better yet, something in 7.62X51: An AR-10, FAL, or M1A1. I don't like getting close to those fuckers.
