Epidemiologists are saying 10X is the low end of actual infections relative to actually diagnosed cases. They've been saying this all along, although early on some were saying it was at least 50X, as at that time there was very little testing going on.

Way more prevalent then, and now, than people seem to realize. Given the fact that many cases are asymptomatic and likely never tested, and still others don't have severe enough symtoms to end up at the doctor's office or merit testing as they don't have severe symptoms, I honestly cannot figure out how this isn't obvious to people.

Not yet. Because we don't know how effective immunity is or how long it will last. Those are unknowns at this point. There is also the issue of people testing recovering and testing negative, testing positive later. Until we know more about those factors, I think it's wise to be cautious from a public health perspective.
