Cracker Barrel Loses $100 Million in Value

Cancel Culture infects both ends of the political spectrum.

The erasure of the old white guy was racist and political.

Being offended by that, and reacting accordingly is JUST.

Your attempt to conflate that with your side's bully tactics, is vile.

If you've ever been in one and look at the decor today...you'll understand why everyone is so pissed.
Cracker Barrel was a step back in time. Now it looks like any other fastfood restaurant. Comparable to McDonald's.

Shame. I've not been in one for years, but that retro look was the main attraction.

I can go anywhere and see McDonalds.

General rule of business:
  1. If the business is doing well, don't get greedy and try to "fix" it.
  2. The time to revamp the whole look of a business is when it is failing.
  3. Next time you hire an image remake expert, be sure to get a liability clause on the contract that they are responsible to cover all loss of sales.

Food is the main attraction. It’s terrible for you but tastes great. Just like a southern gramma’s house. The country store is like 15-20% of the volume.

Maybe food was the main attraction for you. I guess you don't get to eat out much. As I recall last time I was there, the food was OK, perfectly fine but I wouldn't rave about it. The reason to go there was the family menu, the backwoods country atmosphere and the gift shop.

Oh yeah, and the people were friendly and the clientele were not all a bunch of druggies in purple hair looking to rob me.

The food is country cooking, not fine dining dipshit. It’s good like greasy pizza is good. Who the **** was raving about it? You cant even debate food without putting up a strawman. Sign of low intelligence. Not you of course. Youre a genius.

So everyone living in America outside some big blue city lives on greasy pizza thinking that is good food and fine dining? Are you serious?

I don't even know WTF you're ranting about. But if it helps any, my best buddy of 35 years was a gourmet chef. And by country cooking, I think what you are saying is good food and generous servings at a reasonable price instead of a dollop of weird shit on a plate surrounded by colored cut veggies as decorations, call it some fancy french name then charge $45 for it.

Nobody goes for anything other than the food. We both have sworn off ever dtopping there again. I could care less about any sign, etc. I would NEVER visit a place for piliyical reasons. Put quslity food out. End of story. Family menu? O for 1. Backwoods atmosphere? 0 for 2. Gift shop? Nope. O for 3.

No. I’m just saying people enjoy pancakes cooked in butter and deep fried shit. They know what they are getting.

I never said they had “good food”. I said “It’s terrible for you but tastes great.”

So the question is, can food ever be truly good if you don't even like it?
You mean if you don’t like food in general??

Or are you asking if a specific food can be good if it doesn’t appeal to you?

Most cases prefab food.
Yep. Hence, we quit stopping there. The backwoods thing is htsterical. Want backwoods then go where theres no humans for a 50 mile radius. Thats backwoods. Backwoods isnt along an interstate.

You guys hate everything. I hope I don’t get so jaded when I get old. It’s just a country store themed restaurant. Seems so non-controversial.

Make good food. Thats the answer. Restaurants today are not good at that. Irrefutable.
This place is mostly made in house. Easy to make in house for breakfast.

Pancakes are a mix, like all pancakes. Their potatoes are peeled and mashed there. It makes fried chicken by hand using a special buttermilk batter and seasoned breading.

The dumplings are not made in house. Nor is the Mac n cheese.
