I have submitted my application under the Australian government compensation scheme that is claimable if you spend 1 night in hosp & you suffer an eligible condition - they only accept a very narrow criteria of adverse reactions. The scheme is no longer active but I submitted my claim before it closed.
I suffered an extreme immune response to my vaccine & did spend multiple nights in hospital that same week, required surgery, lost an organ & continue to suffer with ongoing complications. Unfortunately none of the many conditions that I suffer post vaccine meet the harm criteria. But I am attempting an application & hope their independent assessment panel will do the right thing. I can only try.
I have a meeting w the agency this week & I want to be prepared with as much evidence available. I have compiled a list of studies proving correlation of my adverse reactions but I am putting a call out to hear from any others that have suffered the same sorts side effects & whether they have any evidence or links to studies they can share that I can use in my application. I appreciate the anecdotal evidence too as I am all too aware that official statistics are not properly capturing incidents.
The immediate effects I suffered where:
1. Arm pain at injection site
2. Extreme swelling of lymph node under injected arm, 5cm hard lump extremely painful unable to lower my arm
3. Tingling feeling of fluid running through leg veins
4. Lower back pain & stomach pain
5. Flu like synonyms unable to get out of bed
Three / four days post vaccine
1. Stabbing pains in stomach so went to ED & diagnosed with appendicitis
2. Operation to remove appendix
3. Unable to stand or even lift my head after op without fainting
4. Vomiting & fainting every time I stood up & unable to be discharged
5. Extreme worry re symptoms felt like I was extremely unwell
6. Pain unbearable
Weeks post vaccine
1. Horrific stabbing pains through pelvic area not improving
2. Attended ED & CT scan & tests - nothing from operation
3. Diagnosed w nerve damage (surgeon said from vaccine)
4. Put on many medications to combat nerve pain
5. Took 2 months off work
6. Neck pain requiring ED trip
Months post vaccine
1. Unable to get out of bed
2. Unable to sleep
3. Heart palpitations
4. Stop breathing at night
5. No energy
6. Apathy
7. Put on 15kg
8. Unable to exercise
9. Can’t recall names of people or objects
10. Shell of the person I used to be
11. Nerve pain from movement in pelvic area
12. Elevated liver levels not able to resolve
I thought this was due to all of the medications from the nerve damage so tapered off but my symptoms did not improve. I had to quit my job as I was unable to exert myself to that level.
Years on
I saw a video on POTS. I tested my heart rate & saw it jumped 60bpm just from standing. Since been diagnosed w POTS & realise this was since the surgery just no doctors ever mentioned it could be a cause of my symptoms so it was not diagnosed earlier.
I still suffer from extreme fatigue, heart issues, sleep disturbances & anxiety that my body is not right.
I have lost tens of thousands of dollars but loosing my health when I was in my prime is the saddest thing I can’t get over. Having zero support from the medical industry, government & even friends & family has been completely devastating to me. The only good that has come from this is my eyes have now been opened to the lies that were spread & I will never blindly trust the media, government & health professionals again.
I would love to hear of others that have suffered similar conditions, in particular appendicitis as I think I may have the most luck in claiming / proving this adverse effect. The time line in conjunction with other symptoms makes it undeniably linked. And I have staff at the hospital tell me so just none were willing to put it in writing. Although they did submit an adverse reaction report which was never followed up other than a letter to say it’s been reviewed & I am safe to continue on with the vaccine schedule & get a third booster !!
