American taxpayers will not be paying for the ongoing appeal of President Donald Trump's $83 million defamation case, a federal appeals court determined on Wednesday.

A panel of judges on the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday denied Trump's request to have Justice Department lawyers argue in his appeal of columnist E. Jean Carroll's defamation case against Trump.

A New York jury last year ordered Trump to pay the former Elle magazine columnist $83.3 million in damages for defaming her in 2019 when he denied her accusation that he sexually assaulted her in the dressing room of a Bergdorf Goodman department store in the mid-1990s. Trump has denied all allegations.

DOJ lawyers had argued that since some of Trump's alleged conduct fell within the scope of his role as president, the Justice Department should be able to defend the president in court.

To Trump fans here - do you not throw up in your mouth a little when you have to defend this swamp?

I believe that on appeal this will be reversed.

The Second Circuit panel chose to ignore a lot, including Trump v. United States.

Good. Let his donors/supporters or the secret supporters of the crypto market (many of which, being foreigners) pay for his lawyers. My tax dollars should not be paying it. He could have simply kept his mouth shut after losing.

Meh don't know about that FO, Trump can now pocket hundreds of millions, if not billions just by yanking the market with some unilateral tarrifs.

He also seems closer to a grave than a serious criminal conviction he so well deserves.

More than anything Trump would probably be fuming at being publicly owned by Carroll.

Not a problem... haven't you libtards learned yet how wealthy Trump is?....

...if he is so wealthy then why does he insist on you paying for his degenerate behaviour?
And why does he need to sell drek? Watches, shoes, ball caps...

He's like one of those guys you see hawking their counterfeit wares on a city sidewalk.

I belive you are dodging the issue of an inapropriate relationship between Trump and OUR GOVERNMENT.

Why do you think it's ok for him to use public resources for his personal lawsuits?

Why do you think it's ok that our DOJ under Trump's administration is so eagerly complicit in that?

I guess it wouldnt look good the government paying for both the prosecution and defense,,

Bull Shit.

The fines were excessive which goes against the 8th Amendment.

Trump has the right under the 1st Amendment to claim innocence.

So he didn't have to keep his mouth shut.

He's ignorant about the way government works, and he's never seemed to understand that the various elements of the government are not "his". He is effectively a child, but worse, most children can learn and evolve. He clearly can't, because he clearly hasn't.

To clain innocence, yes. To defame the victim, No.

Sorry.
The only way Trump could possibly claim innocence is by defaming his accuser.
The real victim in this is Trump.
He's the victim of a false-accusation from a liar who admitted that she thought rape was sexy.
She calls her pet Vagina.

Nothing Trump said wasn't true.
She even went on live TV and started talking with journalists about how she wanted to spend Trump's money.
She's crazy. She's greedy.
Trump said in so many words he wouldn't have sex with the crazy *****.
He would have to be pretty hard-up to want to have sex with that Fatal Attraction, because he doesn't want his rabbit to end up in a stew pot.

This was a classic she said, he said case with absolutely no evidence.

15th post
But now let’s look at the details around some of these incidents….

She accuses former CBS CEO Les Moonves of assaulting her in an elevator.

Really?

Hmmm, I’m skeptical.

Has she ever ridden in an elevator before?

Even the longest elevator ride of all time lasts probably less than a minute?

And there’s the risk it could stop at any time on any floor, right?

I mean, we have all ridden an elevator before, that’s how they work.

So you mean to tell me the CEO of CBS was so overwhelmed with random sexual lust after this lady that he just decided to assault her randomly on an elevator?

And to what end?

I mean, it’s not like he’s going to get his peener out and start slipping it in, so it’s just the sexual gratification of feeling her up in an elevator? And then what?

A man of that position could likely get dozens of women (and likely may have done so) but on a random elevator ride?

I just don’t get it.

Who does that?

Who would even think of doing that?

Here’s what CBS reports:

Carroll also claimed she was assaulted by Moonves, who was ousted from CBS September 2018 after multiple claims of sexual assault and sexual harassment that spanned decades. In the excerpt, Carroll described an incident in the elevator of a Beverly Hills hotel in the mid-1990s following an interview for a magazine article. She described extensive groping, including “goosing and scooping and pricking and prodding and jabbing.” In a statement to New York magazine, Moonves said he “emphatically denies” the incident occurred.

So this CEO of a big TV network just randomly decides to give her a goosing in an elevator?

That would be laughed off as a bad TV or movie script, but she claims this really happened?

Just like the case of President Trump.

Yet he is such an improvement over President Auto-Pen.

I can see why you don't like him.

You wanted the corruption in the White House to continue.

He can feel free. Legal bills and fines will be his, his donors, and the unknown untraceable crypto cons. He can defame her tomorrow, as actually costs him nothing and entertains the weak minded.
