I thought it was all unbiased and not particularly partisan.

I seriously doubt most accusations of "fraud", this is about sending money to Muslim countries in Africa, as well as Pakistan and Afghanistan. Trump clearly states he doesn't want to send money to countries that "hate us", but the deperately poor are the ones benefitting from this aid, it clearly goes where it is supposed to.

Trump's accusations are specious and unproven.

That begs another question to be asked; why aren't other wealthy western countries stepping in to help? Countries that are wealthy largely due to huge trade surpluses with us.

All that's needed to keep USAID supply chains moving uninterrupted is money. And any legitimate currency should be acceptable.

When I send a check to a charity the money is available to that charity within days, so their operations can continue without delays or interruptions.

Most wealthy countries have money set aside for 'discretionary' uses. The shortfall of U.S. money for USAID is certainly a call for the use these discretionary funds.

I think you are conflating how the money is collected with how it is spent. Just because it is collected mandatorily doesn't mean it can't be spent charitably. Government welfare programs are just codified charity.

It’s incredibly easy to be charitable with other people’s money, for sure. Personally, I’d prefer a lower taxation rate which would allow people to voluntarily donate their excess if they so desired.
