I'm glad you asked. The Civil Rights Movement combined with the Vietnam anti-war movement in the '60's.
The American Communist Party and offshoots like the Socialist Workers Party were part of both coalitions supporting them.
I was a high school student protesting the war in Philadelphia and turned down recruitment from them at the time.
I saw it and experienced it, bruddah!
