Could this be a visceral reaction to trump's immigration policies?

Americans growing more positive on immigration as Trump forges ahead with mass deportations

Americans’ views of immigration have swung drastically upward in the past year, with a new poll showing record-high support for immigration amid President Donald Trump’s controversial mass deportation campaign.

A record 79 percent of American adults think immigration is good for the country, according to a new Gallup poll released Friday. And the number of Americans who want immigration reduced dropped sharply from 55 to 30 percent since last year’s poll.

Abject cruelty has a way of making people sympathetic to the plight of those perceived to be persecuted. Or perhaps this is simply a matter of practicality. The populace is perhaps becoming more educated about the benefits of immigration.

The sharp change in Americans’ perception of immigration suggests that the fears on which Trump focused his campaign have diminished. And as worries about immigration subside, so does support for harsh measures to stop or reverse it.

Translation........the fear mongering may be wearing off.

AS your cult cranks up it fearmongering and straight up violence.

Your peeps.

Some will push their agenda against what Trump was elected on.

Trumps two key policies: immigration crack down and fair trade deals for America.

It doesn't matter what polls are pushed or what Wall Street says, Trump was elected on this and was very open about his position. He has to keep his promises or else what is the point of elections?

It's only democrat controlled media that promotes this BS. Democrats should run on this in 2026.

It is easy to demonize a group of people, like immigrants, especially unauthorized immigrants, when you don't see them, you don't know them, they are not part of your community. And many of these people being deported, their neighbors didn't know they were here illegally. Some of them have been in the country for decades. Most of them with no criminal record.

Take the notorious city of Aurora, Colorado. You know, where the terrible gang controlled entire apartment complexes. ICE swooped in early February. Now I can imagine, if ICE would have went in, marched out a bunch of gangbangers in handcuffs and hoods over their heads the neighborhood would be lining the road applauding their actions. That is not what happened.

Instead, ICE agents went door to door, detained residents, many with no criminal record and no gang affiliation. They detained minor children, split up families, and instead of being applauded for their actions protests broke out.

Say you got a guy that does your lawn. Keeps it pristine, treats it in the fall and spring, air orates in the spring, mows, weedeats, even trims your shrubbery, and sometimes, cleans the gutters. He goes to your church, albeit to the Spanish service, but you see him coming in as you leave the English service. His kids go to school with your kids, teammates on the Soccer team. His wife volunteers at the school, she is a stay at home Mom. And this has gone on for years. Then, you find out he and his family were deported. Yeah, you are probably going to remove the Trump bumper sticker that is on your car.

In other news, The Party has announced the Chocolate Ration has gone up from 25 grams to 20 grams!

ICE just freed 10 of your child slaves, so no, we're rejecting your ongoing abuses.

Translation……..ask the same group how they feel about illegal immigration and see how they respond.

As with most other issues, Trump/Republicans/conservatives are at odds with the American people.

The tyranny of Republican minority rule.

Typical leftist idiot who can't tell the difference between legal and illegal immigration.

I am not sure that legal immigration is as big of an issue for people as illegal immigration TBH.

I agree that the voting public had been convinced to demonize immigrants after years of effective propaganda. That, combined with some misguided policies by Biden in an effort to humanize the US immigration policy following trump 1.0, gave trump an electoral appeal over Harris on the issue.

The other major factor in the election being how successful trump and RWM were in not only falsely blaming Biden for inflation but duping voters in to believing trump could, or cared about, solving the problem once elected.

Misinformation about trade and Dotard planned to do about it only played a minor role.

Could it be? Irrelevant. The real question, naturally, is::

IS it a “visceral reaction?” And we know damn well that it’s not.

Your very first sentence is a lie. They are illegal immigrants.

It would appear trump's bigoted demonization campaign of hate had an affect on attitudes towards immigration generally.

Only among the very, very dumb like you, who are unable to distinguish between immigration and ILLEGAL immigration.

It is actually the result of the media's ongoing and stepped-up propagandization of the issue, as well as the deliberate use of language to blur the distinction from illegal to Legal.

The media lies to the American people in that all immigration is the same, and that illegals, border jumpers, are the morally equivalent of those who entered our country legally and properly.

The vast majority of the American people support and want illegals, ALL OF THEM, deported with a zero return policy.
