It's not as far fetched as it seems. Erdogan wants Turkey to play a big role in Syria and Putin is going after the groups supported by Turkey. What happens if Erdogan decides to close passage to Russian vessels against long standing international accords?

Read the story @ Erdogan has a trump card against Putin that would transform the Syrian war

Erdogan has already been playing a big role in Syria. He's been buying oil from ISIS and funding al Nusra.

He should be thrown out of NATO. If Erdogan dares to close the strait I'm thinking "roasted Turkey".

Putin's buddy Assad the terrorist is also buying oil from ISIS. Isn't it a crazy world? Maybe that's why Russia doesn't care all that much about ISIS.

4 Russian generals killed in Syria’s Turkmen Mountain: Sources
3 Feb.`16 - One of the slain Russian generals was reportedly coordinating regime attacks in the area, local sources tell Anadolu Agency
Fifteen pro-regime military officials -- including four Russian generals -- have been killed by opposition forces in northwestern Syria near the border with Turkey, Syrian opposition sources said Wednesday.

According to the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, the slain military officials included four Russian generals and four Syrian generals who had met late Tuesday in Turkmen Mountain -- located in Syria’s northern Latakia region -- to discuss recent military developments.

TURKMEN MOUNTAIN, Syria

One of the slain Russian generals, identified only as "Yuri", was reportedly coordinating regime attacks in Turkmen Mountain, the sources added. Predominantly-Turkmen areas of northwestern Syria have been under attack by regime forces -- backed by Russian airpower -- since November of last year.

Recent attacks in these areas have displaced thousands of Turkmen, a Turkic ethnic group concentrated mainly in Syria and Iraq, prompting many to seek refuge in southern Turkey.

Idiotic Turkey belongs to NATO....as far as I know...so silly

It could be beyond stupid for NATO or any country to go to war with Russia.
