Yes, he was murdered, people with power who feel threatened by the masses, often kill, it was something Kings used to doo all the time.
more likely someone wanted his leadership position, and the bucks that came with it,

Charge them with criminal negligence if they are supposed to be on duty but are walking a picket line.

If Rikers Island is what all of the NYDOC system is like then use the opportunity to gut them like a fish.

Why don't you support your fellow Americans? do you even have a clue about why they are taking this action?

“A week ago, he put out a memo to all superintendents, 'You’re going to run your jail at 70%,' and he said '70% is the new 100%,'" Rovelli said. "The jail couldn’t run properly or safely with 100% of staff. How is it going to run safely with 70% of the staff?”

The governor said Tuesday she has supported correction officers through increased salaries and benefits, contraband crackdowns and expanded recruitment efforts.

“When your kid misbehaves in school, there are repercussions. For the incarcerated population, there are no repercussions. There is no drug testing going on anymore. Drugs are running rampant in these facilities,” Rovelli said.

DOCCS officials pointed out that a lot of the demands would require new legislation. But protesters said it’s a sword they’ll fall on, and unless adequate change is made, they planned on being back out at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Tell me, what besides striking, can thwart a dictator who's collapsing public services? There is no other way, strikes hurt, strikes work.
The dictator in question is a Democrat that the Trump Administration is suing to demand enforcement of immigration law.

You still in favor? Or do you want to change your position...

This is a clear violation of New York's Taylor Law and was neither sanctioned, nor called by the union. Stay tuned folks, over 25 facilities are affected across the state.

Fire them. They can probably get a job in the Bureau of Prisons after Elon fires the guards because it saves money and Trump is forced to rehire some in a few weeks when a good for nothing Obama judge makes him.

Unions, strikes are the only way to thwart dictators, greedy capitalists, thieving, dictators.

Civil servants have civil service laws to protect them, they should not be able to Strike, and in NY they cannot strike.

If they're striking conditions are bad. Fix the conditions and pay them more.

How is it even legal to make someone work 24 hours? That needs to stop. It's mistreatment of a worker.

I did it several times over the years during bad snowstorms. We just relieved each other the best we could and caught some Zs in the unused isolation cells.

Sure, it was rough, but we were paid well for our trouble.....Then again I worked for a sane state.

Tells us what the nation thinks about labor.
When you make your living off other people's taxes you can expect them to have some say in the matter.

In my case I moved on to DuPont when the raises dried-up under (believe it or not) dem austerity measures but I had the good sense to leave my retirement alone and let it grow.

I retired from DuPont, then went back to VDOC (my previous years of service still intact) and retired from there.....Two full pensions. :)
