What Trump should do is appoint a BUSINESSMAN to head up the CPB, and have him structure a transition from public funding to "other" funding, with commercials, donations and whatnot, to save the programming that is worth saving. I personally find a lot of their content to be worth watching.

But none of the coverage of this "catastrophe" will mention the facts that (1) Congress has no Article I "power" to fund public broadcasting, or (2) the rational for creating public television is totally obsolete.

PBS already charges for their streaming service.

They should just start charge for their advertising.
