Schumer names coronavirus czar
candidates in plea to White House
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer(D-N.Y.) offered candidates for a potential czar to oversee the production and disbursement of medical equipment during a call to White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows on Sunday night, a person familiar with the call confirmed to The Hill.
Schumer repeated his request to Meadows to have President Trump fully invoke the Defense Production Act (DFA) as he suggested names for a military official he thought could be appointed to oversee the production and distribution of medical supplies and equipment that states across the country have asked the federal government for aid in acquiring.
Schumer’s call to Meadows follows the senator’s public feuding with Trump last week over the Democrat’s call for the administration to take further action in its response to the coronavirus pandemic by fully invoking the DPA and appointing an official as a czar.

'CZARS'?
"Technically just "advisers" to the President, the czar system, which has been around since Nixon, actually exploded during the George W. Bush reign. Dubya pushed legislation through Congress which grants his advisers access to confidential information formally available only to those with Senate confirmation. Since the czars work within the West Wing, they enjoy almost total immunity from any accountability to Congress under the claim of executive privilege.
Having unelected, unaccountable "czars" running federal agencies and doling out taxpayer dollars is clearly unconstitutional."
-- Constitutionality of White House "Czars" Questioned
President Obama has between 30 and 44 'Czars' ... 1/3rd of them being hold-overs from the Bush administration. There are 2 key pieces of information here:
1.
'Advisors', or
'Czars', NOT appointed by Congress but who are actively running agencies, spending tax dollars / doling out resources / doing anything other than ADVISING (not making decisions / taking action) is UN-Constitutional.
2.
'Advisors to the President', or
'Czars', are appointed by the PRESIDENT.
-- Sorry, Chucky, just as Barry (or any other President dating back to Nixon) did not allow the opposing party to pick / decide who would be their advisors (or 'Czars'), you and your Impeachment-focused, TDS-suffering don't get to choose who the President picks or does not pick to be an advisor (or 'mole').
This is the reason:
Watch what happens when our per-capita numbers go way lower than Germany's. These types of fools are going to be so pissed... the only reason NY took off is due to idiot democrats who siad it was ok to be in large groups in defiance of Trumps warnings because they hate him. People are dead due to democrat EGO!
Trump
didnt order ventilators & masks until two weeks ago.
Thats why the deaths are so high.
Criminal negligence, lack of leadership.
Didn’t order? They were ventilators in the stockpile and Cuomo didn’t even express there would be a need until Mar 17. They immediately sent 400, and 4000 more were there by the 25th!
But at least one aspect of the quickly-snowballing crisis appears to be attributable to Cuomo's own lack of foresight: a severe shortage of necessary healthcare materiel needed for the war against America's so-called "invisible enemy."

And Cuomo actually had decided not to order extra in 2015, that it had been noted could be needed in a bad pandemic. He had the funds for them, but used it on some solar whatever instead.
You think New York is the entire country?
Trump is leader of entire country.
Governors warn of dire ventilator shortages as virus pandemic rages. Trump says some are playing 'politics'
because Trump didnt order them until mid march.
Your point? Your article is dated Apr 5. Tell me when you will hold these hospitals, states, etc responsible for not looking forward? The Strategic National Stockpile is for all 50 states, in the event an area needs more supplies, not a replacement for their own irresponsibilities. Unless you expect it to stock enough supplies for all 50 states under any possible pandemic scenario... which ain’t gonna happen, and has never happened under any other administration.
But Trump did invoke the defense production act on Mar 18, as soon as it was noted supplies will run short in New York -
An executive order issued Wednesday afternoon indicated that the President will use the act to obtain "health and medical resources needed to respond to the spread of COVID-19, including personal protective equipment and ventilators."
As well as sent 4400 ventilators to New York by the 24th, less than a week after Cuomo stated he would have a need, but before the need has even occurred.
