‘COPS’ Returning to Television After Being Cancelled During Black Lives Matter Riots Over George Floyd

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but does anyone here know of any real police officers who watch the show? I am asking because I've seen the Everybody Loves Raymond episode when Ray goes on the police ride along with Robert. At the beginning of the episodes, the two guys are watching the show named Cops and I am like, "Why would Robert be sitting in front of such a show when he himself is an officer? Does he not see enough of that mess every time that he goes into his job?"

God bless you always!!!

So Fox Nation is bringing back COPS. I never really cared too much for it to begin with but I did laugh when I learned some virtue signaling TV exec cancelled it because of the St. George Floyd protests & "equityness" & "racialisms" & all the other wokester BS.

Why they had to cancel a popular TV show on the air for over 3 decades over a thug that died of natural causes is still a mystery.
I've tried to think like a wokester before but I became severely dizzy with a crushing a migraine.
Plus, I could literally feel my brain cells dying in record numbers so I won't ever do that again.

Cancel culture may have dealt a blow but they didn't kill it.
I guess people still want to see idiots get arrested.

Social justice warriors had been railing against the show since it began.

“The dominant image is hammered home again and again: the overwhelmingly white troops of police are the good guys; the bad guys are overwhelmingly black,” the New York Times wrote in 1989. “Little is said about the ultimate sources of the drugs, and nothing is mentioned about Florida’s periodic scandals in which the police themselves are found to be trafficking in drugs.”

Personally, the few times I saw it, I saw just as many or more idiot white trash as blacks getting popped but I wasn't a regular viewer.
I just never saw the entertainment in watching the dumbest people in the country get busted but this proves money means more than virtue signals.
Plus the fact that "defund the police" has backfired spectacularly didn't hurt the decision to bring it back.

It'll be pc bullshit.

Savages and thugs will no longer be identified as "black."

They'll now be described as oppressed colored persons who are trying to turn their lives around.

I was a huge fan of the show and disappointed when they took it off. Fox owned it and then sold it off to a cable channel (I forget which one now) and then they took it off the air.

I'd watch it again but I'm certainly not paying for it. I pay more than enough for my internet/cable service and I'm not about to pay any more.

Never understood the appeal of that show. No desire to get a peek at the low point in someone's life. I think I've seen parts of maybe three shows and one had a little girl crying asking the female police officer if she could go home with her. Brutal.

Paying attention to what? The stories we ARENT hearing about police brutality?

Every day they are happening. No, they don't get the national coverage as Floyd but that is because they are being addressed now in many cases.

Tons of things happen every day when you have 350,000,000 people. That doesnt mean it isnt super rare.

To each his or her own. I find police work fascinating. When at home I listen to my police scanner. When nothing is on the internet I go to our cities website to read about the calls our emergency services get. It's just like politics. Some people have no interest in it and others like us do.

Floyd didn’t die of ‘natural causes’.
He OD’d on drugs.
