Cops lie to convict a man and then retaliate against him when he proves the lie.

Damn, that is some awful crap the cops pulled on Williams. I'm generally for the cops but these goons deserve to lose their jobs, their pensions and should serve some jail time.

Norfolk is an ultraliberal Democrat led city, and Virginia is a deep blue commonwealth, that was run by Ralph Northam , known for dressing up as a member of the Triple K. No mention in the link what race the falsely accused citizen was, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a colored guy.

It did mention his race so I have to assume you didn't actually read the article but being triggered went right to your rant as an excuse.

As a matter of fact, the article actually mentions it:
Here, there is a significant power imbalance in Williams’ relationship with the police, as he is a Black man who had recently exposed an officer’s perjury. We must also account for the additional context. The police had previously lied to charge and convict Williams with misdemeanor trespassing, and then at the accident scene, the officers allegedly pointed at him, talked about him, and lied again with the intent of depriving him of his rights, despite his being severely injured and traumatized in the immediate aftermath of a high-speed crash. Finally, we must also consider the nature of the retaliatory acts. The adverse action here is not the mere misrepresentation of facts on an accident report. It is the officers’ intentional misrepresentation––the falsity of the report plus the animus motivating it.

Pardon.

Mr. Williams was a black guy, just as I would have thought in a Far Left jurisdiction like Norfolk in Far Left Virginia.

I was right in my assumption, even though I didn't at first see it.

Notice how this kind of Racism tends to happen in ultraliberal cities? Even back in the 1990's when black icon Rodney King got the crap kicked out of him by a liberal LAPD.

My favorite part :
Hey, cops? This is what people mean when they say All Cops Are Bastards (ACAB). It’s not that all cops are. It’s that so many of them are that it hardly makes sense to treat each cop as a wholly divisible part of the Bastard whole.

Fuck the police!

While I hesitate to write this, one must always consider the sort of person who becomes a police officer. Many are highly motivated and want to make society a little better, but many are also bullies, bigots, and bastards who manage to get through the vetting process.

Unfortunate but true.

From the RCMP on down, Canada is accustomed to this, especially in Ontario.

They purchase Safe Houses across the city with insane budgets, charge overtime with impunity, fly choppers around the city just to ensure the funding is renewed the next year (and the year after, and the year after) and destroy lives with the help of the Crown Attorneys and corrupt actors within the "justice system".

It's destroyed our society and economy. I understand that U.S authorities willingly bend the knees to Canadian authority, this means that you will experience it in your country soon. In fact, one might argue that you already are...

Why should the police be serious about law enforcement when the legislatures, who make the laws, aren't. The cops take the bad guys off the streets and the legislatures put them back on the streets.

Are these idealists not a dangerous bunch?
Deluded and therefore psychotic ?

Not smart enough to become successful politicians .

And similar to those bureaucrats who are not sufficiently smart to become successful entrepreneurs .

The sooner these types are replaced by robots , the better .

The police are dangerous people. Nuff said.

I was looking at the big picture. There are cops with questionable character on the payrolls everywhere because of recruitment shortages. Fix the criminal justice system and it will attract better people. This is the job of lawmakers.
