U.S. consumers view the economy with more optimism this month, according to a report released Tuesday. An upbeat view on jobs hints at a solid August payrolls report, some economists say.

The Conference Board, a private research group, said its index of consumer confidence increased to 92.4 in August from a revised 90.3 in July. The July number was first reported as 90.9.

The August index is the highest since October 2007, before the last recession started.

I'm holding on to my money....
Hoping we can survive this administration.

I think most macro economic problems are solved nowadays. Yes there is too much liberal interference that will keep growth slow at 2% or so but I don't see any more huge upheavals.

US stocks rise best August in 14 years for S P 500

Not too long ago the market would puke on bad news from around the world.
Now bad news from
Russia
Ukraine
Iraq
Syria
Israel
Palestine

Are we just getting used to the news as just same ol same ol from that part of the world.
The market keeps chugging along.
In the past any one of these areas of unrest would send the market into a tailspin.

Make no mistake I'm not complaining.
I'm just curious as to why with all the unrest the market does't seem to flinch.

Dear Future American Generations, You Are Screwed!!!

Faith that the future will be better than the present is slipping, as despite President Obama's demands that Americans not be "cynics," a new report shows there is a major lack of confidence that the next generation will have it better than the last one. As WSJ reports, most strikingly, only 16% of respondents agree that job and career opportunities will be better for the next generation than for their own – a drop from the 56% who were optimistic about this measure in 1999 and down even from the 40% who agreed in November 2009, well into the recession.

Dear Future American Generations You Are Screwed Zero Hedge

Airport? Do you run a small municipal or executive airport? I'm trying to get a picture of why your business isn't doing well. Would you like to elaborate?

easy to fix. Eliminate corporate taxes and unions and you'd create a huge boom here tomorrow!!

Many other small businesses are thriving, but they are no more a positive macroeconomic indicator than you are a negative one.
