Conservatives always turn a blind eye to the hundreds of billions of our tax dollars freely given away to Fortune 500 companies in the form of subsidies, grants, earmarks, and lucrative no bid government contracts. Most of this money is spent on lavish corporate retreats, bloated salaries and stock options for upper management, but - - let an unemployed waitress apply for food stamps to feed her children while she applies for work, and Conservatives point the finger at her and tell everyone she is the reason for America's decline, that lazy, Socialist bitch! It's high time for Conservatives to admit that Socialism has been a staple of American corporate culture for a very long time. Mention Socialism to Millennials, and they think of Scandinavia, a place of healthy, well educated, and happy people, where healthcare is free, standards of living are high, and higher education is inexpensive and respected. I'm sorry Conservatives...your Joseph McCarthy scare tactics about Socialism have become a fading relic of the cold war.

Embrace Socialism, it's not going away. :bye1:

Crony reach-aroundism is not capitalism.

Government has too much power and too much taxing ability. Ending that would stop this bullshit. Socialism would throw gas on the fire.

Either way, that is not socialism. Socialism is the means of production and distribution owned exclusively by government.

Keynesian economics is very stupid, irresponsible, and contributes to government waste and corruption, but it too is not socialism.

SHE would make a lot more money and would likely be in high demand if the unskilled labor market was not saturated by millions of illegal workers who get paid less under the table and the employer gets to avoid the taxes on said illegal worker. How do you fix that problem? Again, people are using the power of government to the detriment of others. Remove the incentive to employ illegal labor and the problem goes away.

It's high time for Conservatives to admit that Socialism has been a staple of American corporate culture for a very long time.
You don't know what socialism means. No, we are not accepting socialism and we will use our 400 million plus guns to make sure of it.

Mention Socialism to Millennials, and they think of Scandinavia,
Which is not practicing socialism, and they even state that they are not. Millennials have been indoctrinated by their communist teachers to accept the word "socialism" as something that it is not. Millennials are also stupid and lazy, so there's that.
I'm sorry Conservatives...your Joseph McCarthy scare tactics about Socialism have become a fading relic of the cold war.
Yeah, whatever, you communist fuck twinkle-toed cocksucker. We will rid the earth of you assholes.

In the US, all the socialism we need is equal protection of the laws in our at-will employment States for unemployment compensation. Only the right wing insists we need the socialism on a national and international basis known as our alleged wars on crime, drugs, and terror.

It has been and will always be to an extent. Neither pure capitalism, nor pure socialism work. The trick is the balance that does not turn off the capitalistic desire for advancement, based on potential for personal profit. Not a relic of the cold war in any way, as it predates that era by far, to an extent clean back to the days of George Washington.

Many Americans take great pride in investing in the "GENERAL WELFARE" of our Republic.
We often times agree with investing in our job creators....until your human pets...ShaQuita, Guadalupe and their litters of money trees start offering jobs and or a return on investment you'll have a difficult time convincing us productive positive contributors to take pride in funding their baby factories and weed habits.
Good luck with that though.

...also the type of balance that does not remove the fear factor. Capitalism must be laden with risk. If there is no risk or if Government removes the risk, capitalists will be irresponsible because they know government will bail their asses out. There must be a penalty and a fear of that penalty for stupid decisions.

Promoting the general welfare means public policies that improve our standard of living not the reverse.

Yeah, we waste a lot on worthless govt leech programs. It gets us nowhere. And no, scandinavian countries aren't this utopia that the media likes to propagandize and lie about. But hey, move on over there. We won't miss you.

Not sure if I would say "must be laden with risk", but there is always risk involved, even if it is marginal opportunity costs. There really isn't any free lunch, but it is ultimately up to the consumer to decide what to eat. Some degrees out there do in fact have zero potential to pay off in the market place. Academic advisors should be able to be sued for malpractice if the student is not paying their own way. Glad I and my kids went practical, with business, finance and medical and none of us carried college debt past a year after graduation with marketable skills or certifications.

Still requires balance of policies (not that we necessarily have it) or many will end up generally on welfare, as has proven to be the case.

ilmao @ "SOCIALISM"

Communism is the correct description. This has been in the works a long time. The progression was jump started with Chinese trade and the internet, which happened to have occurred at the same time.

Trump got in the way of things and PROGS went ape-shit as a result. COVID is very much part of the act. China and the globalists who gain much power and wealth are behind it. The Demonic party is their tool, as are all sources of information, and PROGS are their support group.

COMMUNISM And sure, still smidgens of capitalism, you can't escape it. Difference is the money goes to the fewest possible, by design, while the Chinese become the business and labor model for things to come.

Thanks PROGS, you really fucked up now.

Communism is a dictatorship, socialism is always Democratic everybody knows it except for brainwashed English-speaking conservatives. Countries like France Germany Scandinavia etc etc have had socialists and communist parties at the same time . and Communists have lost out totally and disappeared since the fall of the ussr.

We should be upgrading infrastructure on a more consistent basis to help automatically stabilize our economy.
no sacrifice is too great to save the greedy idiot GOP Rich from paying their fair share.
Why not raise the minimum wage to raise more tax revenue so even the Poor can help with the tax burden?
Google the only tax graph you need to know. Everybody making money pays about 25 to 27% including the richest. The lowest quintile pays about 20%. If you count fees. 18% without....the problem in the United States has been not taxing the rich enough the last 30 years. Only the garbage GOP propaganda machine makes this mess possible.
