Very sad, but true.

It's weak consolation, but, at least on a personal level, these threads provide some vindication. I've taken a lot of heat over the last few years for my defense of the rights of bigots. A lot of people assumed that I took that position was because I was a bigot myself, and just wanted more elbow room. I tried to explain that my opposition was focused on the principles involved, because a government empowered to silence bigots could just as easily silence critics. They wrote me off as paranoid.

Fortunately, it hasn't happened. Yet. But I get worried when Democrats and Republicans agree. And right now it seems like both parties would love to find an excuse to nationalize the press. Republicans going on about Facebook being a "monopoly" are singing along to an old favorite of Democrats, who are always looking for excuse to extend federal power. If people don't wake up, things are going to get ugly.

The left saw conservatives freely exchanging ideas on Twitter and Facebook as a major reason they lost. Hence they will censor that speech to control the elections.

Fascist book is a private concern, they have just as much right to censor American speech as a baker does to refuse baking gay wedding cakes.

BUT when a PLATFORM such as Android blocks programs that provide an alternative to the leftist platforms, then it is no different than if Verizon or AT&T censored what you said on your phone.

Blocking the dissemination of technology to provide a free speech platform absolutely violates the 1st Amendment and must be acted on.
