Conan vs. NBC

For anyone following the circus at NBC TV Late Night programming.

When one of the NBC honchos (Dick Ebersole) took a pot-shot at Conan, Conan replied in his Friday monologue:

"In the press this week, NBC has been calling me every name in the book. In fact, they think I’m such an idiot, they now want me to run the network."

Conan is kicking their asses.

And, ironically, NBC is finally getting some good ratings!

But, it looks like their egos will continue to get in the way. The latest rumor is that NBC is going to almost totally cave-in to stop Conan from mocking them so well and so publicly. They will give him, I read, about $40 or so million and free him from ANY non-compete clause.

Conan will probably be doing late night soon at Fox. Leno will be back on The Tonight Show before February is out and Letterman will still be looking like a weasel.

Looks like Conan is smarter than all of them at NBC. Walks with $40 Mil and still will have places to go, like the article says and note the sign, "F NBC".
