This country is unique compared to most countries in the world. We have so many different cultures, races, religions, etc and people with all kinds of different lifestyles and morals and wants and needs. As much as people want to ***** and moan that "I won't compromise my principles and morals" in this country, you must if its going to run and be fair to all. it seems one big thing people fail to realize, that what they consider right, others consider wrong. There needs to be compromises.

It's actually amazing the country runs as good as it does with all these different opinions in it. ANd its no wonder why there is constant bitching about the government, nothing that's ever done can please everybody. Some law or ruling will always have its opposition.

With our current political structure, compromise is out of the question.

With instant internet reporting and 24 hour cable news for each political spectrum any attempt to reach across the aisle and seek a middle ground is instantly and viciously attacked.

Win-win solutions are not sought because they allow the other side to win also.

Some issues are black and white. Using the government to make people dependent. Using the government to attack people's jobs just because it will get you more power. Using the government to take by force more of the people's money so you can funnel it to your campaign contributers is evil.

Where are the compromises in any of these? If someone wants to kill you, how do you compromise? If someone wants you blindly following them, how do you compromise with that?

No. Being open minded means listening to everything and not dismissing it simply because you are ignorant about it. The stimulus is a perfect example of something that should not be comprimised into existence. It was a boondoggle and a theft and a swindle. It cost a bundle and did nothing that was promised.

Anybody, ANYBODY, with even half a notion of honest scrutiny of this dog turd could see it, but the Dems saw the opportunity to run the game and they took it.
