I say, Let them. It's happened before. In the Deep South for example. Those people were so eat up by anger about losing the Civil War and their hatred of Black people for being, what they believed, was the cause of their loss...... It became time we stopped trying to fix them or help them. As the old racists died off, they were replaced by a new generation that saw the error of the Old Ones' ways. These days in most of the South, they are more accepting of Blacks than in most of the North. They also get along better with them than in most of the North.

It's a lot more complicated than that but the point is, I don't want to save the scumbags in New Yawk Shitty from killing themselves.

If you live there, you need to decide whether or not you can survive the impending turmoil that inevitably takes place as a culture dies.
