Well, I haven't voted dem in an election involving sending someone to DC since 1996 ... but the real problem is the gerrymandering. We have districts where no dem will ever be elected, and any goper who even suggests compromise on something as uncontroversial as actually reducing deficits, will get primaried out by insane clowns who don't even want to deny legal gun buys to suspected terrorists, because they feel that infringes upon the 2nd amend.
