Combating the pandemic should never have been a divisive, partisan matter.

When ideologues thwart medical science, government fails.

PROBLEM IS:
  1. YOU are an ideologue.
  2. Government never really works, it only fails to greater and lesser degrees.
  3. There has been no medical science with Covid, just conflicting and ever changing stories from a few people with medical diplomas now working for failed government telling you ideologues what you want to hear.

Pandemics are not political. They are a matter of public health, a medical matter.

Medical science evolves, and is predicated upon the latest apolitical, empirical data.

Pertinent, and demanding a logical, pragmatic response, not an ideological one:

Unvaccinated Americans are 10 times more likely to be hospitalized with Covid than the vaccinated, according to the C.D.C. Several of the states with the highest rates of I.C.U. occupancy, including Alabama and Mississippi, are also among those with the lowest vaccination rates.
Put simply, the vaccines save lives. Unlike most countries, the U.S. has more than enough for everyone. That means many of the recent deaths were preventable.
Yeah, I agree with all that, except that the pandemic has been turned into a political shitfight. The R side is already regretting that.
The d's will have to get their pleasure out of sick and dead people.

There is no pleasure to be derived from sick and dead people. The reality is transcending partisan political quibbles.

.Seattle (AP) ... More than 95% of hospitalized patients are unvaccinated — a staggering amount of unnecessary suffering, Briley said. Some 260 patients are on ventilators.
“When you walk down a hall that is full of COVID patients, it becomes very real,” Briley said. “These patients cannot catch their breath. ... They are, in effect, drowning. It’s horrible for the patients and it’s also something that causes horrible anguish for our staff.”
About two-thirds of Washington residents age 12 and older had been fully vaccinated as of last week, and 74% have received at least one dose, according to Washington Department of Health data.
In conservative northern Idaho, only about 4 in 10 eligible residents are fully vaccinated. Hospitals there are so packed that authorities announced last week facilities would be allowed to ration care, potentially giving life-saving care to some patients at the expense of others.
Hospitals there have sent patients to hospitals in Washington, particularly in Spokane, though how many is not clear. The New York Times reported Monday that as of last week, Providence Sacred Heart in Spokane had patients from Idaho taking up 29 beds.
... “We are keeping our head above water, but barely,” said Dr. Christopher Baliga, an infectious disease specialist at Seattle’s Virginia Mason hospital. “Our capacity to absorb overwhelmed patients from other states is severely limited.”

Instead of discussing what government should do about the problem

Discussing whether gubmint should be doing anything concedes the notion that there is a problem....DUUUH!
Exactly. Pretending there's no problem is easier than having an ideological debate about the proper role of government. So the dimwits latch on to the factual naysaying and the argument degrades to "yes it is, no it isn't".

And the most important debate facing our country never happens.

The anti-vaxxers and Trumpers won't admit they've been wrong but they will smarten up and get vaxxinated out of fear. But of course there will still be the few that are stupid and will get sick eventually. Obviously some will die.

Pandemics are not political. They are a matter of public health, a medical matter.

This “pandemic” absolutely is political.

If it was not being blatantly exaggerated and exploited for malicious political purposes, it would have never amounted to anything more than a seasonal flu outbreak.

Corrupt politicians, using this virus as an excuse to seize and abuse power over us to which they have no vestige of any legitimate claim, to strip us of essential human rights, and to sabotage our economy, have caused far greater harm than this virus, by itself, ever could possibly have caused.

After the tragic experience that resulted from scoffing at medical science and lashing out at public health professionals, some politicians are finally flipping as a requisite of self-preservation.

['We have it totally under control.' A timeline of President Donald Trump's response to the coronavirus pandemic - Poynter]

The Former Guy surrendered to the pandemic as infections and deaths soared under his impotent leadership. Increasingly, Republicans who learned the hard way are not making that mistake again. Even the crackpots' own propaganda outlets are acknowledging the surrender to truth:

Alabama Republican Governor Kay Ivey has joined the Biden Administration and the CDC in attacking “unvaccinated” residents in her own state, blaming them for rising “cases” of COVID-19. It is “time to start blaming the unvaccinated folks” for rising cases of Covid-19...

Florida officials defy DeSantis as infections spike
Local officials across Florida are bucking Gov. Ron DeSantis and his anti-mandate coronavirus strategy as infections soar in the state and nation. They’re imposing vaccine and mask requirements for government workers and even declaring states of emergency. In a sign of how worrisome the new Covid-19 surge is, Disney World is ordering all guests over 2-years-old to wear masks indoors at its Florida theme park, regardless of vaccination status.

Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has said
that the COVID-19 “vaccines are saving lives.”

“If you are vaccinated, fully vaccinated, the chances of you getting seriously ill or dying from COVID is effectively zero,” DeSantis said during a Wednesday press briefing.
“If you look at the people being admitted to hospitals, over 95 percent of them are either not fully vaccinated or not vaccinated. And so these vaccines are saving lives.”
The ideological dogmatists who fell in line behind the vacuous blowhards are witnessing the same belated renaissance in the fact of anthropogenic climate change.
When reality is your adversary, and it advances relentlessly, you may as well just close your eyes and think of England.

Public health experts, epidemiologists, virologists, and immunologists have their empirical data.

Paranoid ideological crackpots have their dogma.

They differ.

The former is controlled, self-critical, subject to refinement as new data is compiled and analyzed.

The latter is contemptuous of reality, but occasionally, appearing to be incredibly irresponsible and stupid triggers a breakthrough.

Ivey: "The new cases of Covid are because of unvaccinated folks.
Almost 100% of the new hospitalizations are with unvaccinated folks.
And the deaths are certainly occurring with unvaccinated folks."

"It’s A Real Lifesaver!":

Trump Gives Strongest Endorsement Of Covid-19 Vaccines Yet

Trump said he’s “all in favor” of the shot, adding it’s a “great thing” that people “should take advantage of.” The former president has endorsed the vaccine several times—he advocated for the shot during two separate interviews with Fox News and once during a Conservative Political Action Conference speech in February

That's an awful lot of words, just to say nearly nothing.

You could have said exactly the same thing, much more concisely, this way:

“Baaah. Baaaaah. Baaaaaaaaah.

I don't know why you call public heath experts, immunologists, epidemiologists, virologists, and other medical professionals "libs." They're apolitical.

The Loser has an undeniable, documented history of crackpot statements concerning the pandemic (Timeline of Trump's COVID-19 Comments - FactCheck.org) but he eventually accepted medical expertise and his goons had a hissyfit:

Nancy pelosi organizing a mob of chinese in chonatown and shouting “come on down” was purely political

which was only the beginning of resistance to trump over the wiflu

and who says the government stiffs working on washinton dc are apolitical?

many of them are as far left as the World Health Organization pro china sycophants at the UN

I dont think the audience was booing trump per se

they were booing the vaccine

nor was it a large number of people

but I think the lib narrative has a problem

many here claim Trump voters are robots who cannot think for themselves

yet you have now provided proof that they do think independently

The Chief Medical Advisor to the President's medical credentials match up quite well against any failed casino operator and faded shlock-tv performer in matters of public health.
