Who judges "abuse" of free speech? We need to withhold aid to colleges who teach anti-American politics and get down to basics and arrest people who violate local ordinances. So far we do neither.

That's a good point. Maybe the Supreme Court could wade into the issue.I doubt you will get a consensus on what is anti-American.
Even Trump realizes we've let it get out of hand. What is “abusing free speech”?
You are advocating for the government to regulate “speech”? That is exactly what not having free speech looks like.
Hopefully someday Valentina Gomez gets the chance to control the libraries in your neck of the woods.
Fuck Israel and fuck the Palestinians....is that fair enough?Free speech does not include the right to criticize the Israeli government, let's make that clear. We can criticize any other country in the world, but we shall not criticize Israel.
I say the flag burners should be free to burn a flag and anyone around them should be free to put out the fire and raise another flag properly on the spot, no arrests necessary.Even Trump realizes we've let it get out of hand.

Yes, Trump, Abbott, Noem, DeSantis and several others are happy to attack the First Amendment in the name of Zionism. That's one of the many signs showing there is no rule of law.Even Trump realizes we've let it get out of hand.

So who should have it? Just white men.Governors like Abbot are right to crack down on this. College students have abused free speech for decades. If only elected officials had done this during the Vietnam War, we might have actually won.
---After Abbott's order, protests, here’s what college free speech policies in Texas look like---

When students have to run to safe spaces because they see the name TRUMP! written on a sidewalk, colleges are not doing a good job teaching them and challenging them to think.Free speech on campus is a good thing. What's bad is inciting violence and trying to suppress viewpoints that you find offensive.
Many pro-"Palestinian" campus demonstrations are thinly veiled anti-Semitic cluster-fucks. The dearth of demonstrations demanding that Hamas lay down its arms and free the hostages is all "we" need to know.
The good thing is, it exposes these colleges and universities as being peddlers of bullshit Leftist narratives, never questioned as to their wisdom or efficacy. Frankly, I like watching them. It's always good to see your adversaries acting the fool.
So let me get this straight. When students have to run to safe spaces because they see the name TRUMP! written on a sidewalk, colleges are not doing a good job teaching them and challenging them to think.
One, I said absolutely nothing about shielding Jews from criticism. Two, seeing TRUMP!'s name written on a sidewalk should not put ANY student in a safe space, any more than rainbow stripes on a crosswalk should. Three, well, there is no three. One and two are enough, but please try again. You know, for entertainment value. So let me get this straight.
Jews need to be shielded from any criticism of the Zionist Entity.
But students are supposed to suck it up when confronted with Trump's Misogyny, racism, and homophobia?

Free speech is dangerous to government and special interest groups. That's why government and special interest groups censor so much these days. That's why the church burned books before there was an internet.Free speech on campus is a good thing. What's bad is inciting violence and trying to suppress viewpoints that you find offensive.

It was a mistake to send troops to Vietnam. We might have won the Vietnam War.
