Collections Or Hobbies

I've seen a couple of knife threads lately. I decided to share my knife collection. I apologize for the poor picture quality. After three attempts, I was unable to get crystal clear shots. I'm not sure what's wrong with my camera. I even tried to edit them in Windows but to no avail. Anyway ... it is what it is. I know it isn't much but you have to start somewhere:

There is a mix of cheapo knives; quality mid-range knives; higher end knives; and my most expensive knife is a Randall that was nearly $800.00. Two of the knives were hand made by me. There are knives from Germany, Russia, the USA, Spain, Italy, South Africa, El Salvador, Vietnam, Ireland, England, Argentina, Canada, Australia, China, India, Pakistan, and probably a couple of nations I can't remember.

What the hell are you doing with all them toothpicks? Vikings need big weapons. Sell some of that stuff on eBay and go big!

You should check these out...

They are good quality blades. They make them look rough. If you like the pretty stuff, get some RMJ blades and hawks.

I got nothing like your collection. Maybe a couple dozen knives for edc, but I retired most of them when I got something I liked better. I went from spring assist to auto to OTF. I also had special knives that were legal for carry in NYC. I guess the closest thing to a hobby for me is fruit trees. I got about 55 of them. If I hit the lotto will buy some land and maybe have 90 trees or so.

Goldbacks are nice for barter. Good work. You were smart to buy singles. They are the best deal. I wish I had bought some more when they were cheaper.

Geez, dude. Those Chinese, Paki, and Indian knife-makers must really love you. :abgg2q.jpg:

That looks like a table at some of the gun shows I've been to lately. ;)

That's quite an impressive collection there.

If there is any doubt that I have a LOT of very good quality, high end knives just point out the ones you would like close up pictures of and I'll oblige.

Morakniv (Mora) knives are okay. They're a fairly good value for the money but most of them aren't full tang and they use fairly cheap materials in their production knives. The blades are thin. I actually have three Moras. The one you likely saw was the red handled, typical Mora. I have a better one in my survival gear in my pick up. But the one most people miss is in the picture below.

At the far right is a full leather, flap-over, light colored sheath. Under that is a full tang, wood handled Mora.

I have one of those hatchet/knife combos made by Western. I bet, at the time, nobody thought a Western knife would be collectable.

I have one of their Vietnam era bowies in the footlocker somewhere.

Westerns were actually good quality knives for the price. I was sorry to see them go but I'm glad I have at least three (if not four) of their products.

Oops. I forgot to post a picture of my Smith & Wesson M&P 15P .22LR:
