Colbert was paid $20 million for a super-woke show nobody watched. Get woke get broke. Hopefully no one else will hire this unfunny comedian.

july 22 2025 Stephen Colbert labeled himself a “martyr” for getting his flailing late-night CBS show canned — while telling President Trump on-air to “go f–k yourself.”

Colbert, who is one of Trump’s most persistent late-night critics, fired off the revolting insult during his “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” monologue late Monday after the president gloated about the 61-year-old comic’s firing.
The announcement came just days after Colbert had ripped a $16 million settlement that Paramount, the parent company of CBS, had reached with the Trump administration.

Colbert had said the technical name in legal circles for the Paramount deal — given that Paramount’s pending sale to Skydance Media needs the Trump administration’s approval — was “big fat bribe.”

I didn’t watch it, but the show was at the top of its timeslot for ratings

Facts are facts

Reminds me of the Smothers Brothers thing with Nixon.

If he is the top rated show and is cancelled, than owners feel they are losing control of their employees. This appears to be an editing decision not a business decision.

Take Tucker Carlson as an example. Top rated show and cancelled by his bosses.

Studios are like many corporations, they want military-like control (the genesis of corporate structures was military). It's a bit sad, this is why courts need to stop silencing speech and why I am not a fan of lawsuits against ones speech.

and fudged facts are fudged facts... ie. if the three worst TV programs in history ended up in the same time slot one of them would have to be tops in the time slot, normally these types of "facts" are the norm in an industry that has little trouble duping its audiences.
