You don't pay into unemployment, your employer does. only pays in about $700 a year per employee. You'll use that up after a week. The reason why the system works is that most people aren't unemployed. Unemployment is welfare. It's good social policy, you don't want everyone panicking and throwing away years of experience taking jobs beneath them right away.

Medicare - you are likely to get everything you paid into it out and a lot more with one serious illness.

Social Security- if you live to be 72, you will get everything back you paid in. The average lifespan is 79 now.

so im getting something back for what i paid into it....except for me SS....i paid very little into it and wont be getting anything from them....
