Bill Gates is telling us climate change isn't all it's been built up to be. Is it really that dire an issue? No doubt the climate will always change, yet we have to be good stewards also, but is it the hysterical issue most try to make it out to be?

There’s a doomsday view of climate change that goes like this:

In a few decades, cataclysmic climate change will decimate civilization. The evidence is all around us—just look at all the heat waves and storms caused by rising global temperatures. Nothing matters more than limiting the rise in temperature.

Fortunately for all of us, this view is wrong. Although climate change will have serious consequences—particularly for people in the poorest countries—it will not lead to humanity’s demise. People will be able to live and thrive in most places on Earth for the foreseeable future. Emissions projections have gone down, and with the right policies and investments, innovation will allow us to drive emissions down much further.

Unfortunately, the doomsday outlook is causing much of the climate community to focus too much on near-term emissions goals, and it’s diverting resources from the most effective things we should be doing to improve life in a warming world.

Kind of funny how all the left media has been on doomsday watch over CC with dire scenarios for years and years, and now a pillar in the liberal community says hey wait a minute.

NYT in meltdown status, possible suicide watch:

Many scientists believe that the planet’s rapid warming could bring about a series of irreversible tipping points that could have cascading impacts. These scenarios include changes to ocean currents, the disappearance of ice sheets and the mass death of coral reefs.

Mr. Gates did not address any of those scenarios in the new memo, though he has discussed them before.

AP not taking it well either:

Climate scientists say every fraction of a degree of warming matters

CNBC too:

Breakthrough Energy, Gates’ climate-focused investment fund, reportedly cut dozens of staffers earlier this year. The New York Times reported in March that the “change shows how Mr. Gates is retooling his empire for the Trump era.”

The climate change tipping point is like peak oil, or reaching for straws that are always just out of reach. Plastic straws at that!

However it is undeniable that the world has been slowing warming from whatever cause for the last 150 or so years. Which in geological terms is the blink of an eye.

And will go away just as quickly.

The temperature increase so far is just now measurable ... a single degree ... that's all the closer we measure temperatures from around the world ... and it's common for temperature to be a single degree different just a few hundred feet away ... that doesn't change climate ...

Our average values can never be more accurate than our data ... if we've been measuring to the nearest whole degree this past century, then our century average will only be accurate to nearest whole degree ... any decimals value is statistical trickery meant to deceive an uneducated population ...

If you need to be alarmed ... think about all these hurricanes avoiding the United States since Trump took office ... just whose side is God on anyway? ...

Always been bullshit.

Al Gore fucked up by saying NYC would be underwater by 2012.

Then the grifters figured out they need to be nebulous with timelines.

WHEN THE LEFTIES SELL ALL OF THEIR OCEANFRONT PROPERTY, I MIGHT BELIEVE THEY BELIEVE IT.

Or, maybe they blast countries like China who burn fossil fuels like crazy and pollute millions of tons of greenhouse gases.

When the left only cry about the USA and no other countries, you know it is a political grift.

Common Sense is the sworn enemy of the Climate Alarmists. I'm no fan of Bill Gates but good on him for calling out the massive misguided investments in trying to lower global temperature by a half a degree. That while a billion people world wide are dealing with chronic hunger or starvation.

And will go away just as quickly.
I don't know. The next glacial advance is a near certainty but I don' think we're reached the glacial minimum yet. The records show that it was even hotter during the last minimum.

LOL, is Gates related to Diogenes? Winds of change.

ABSOLUTE SCIENCE INVALID MORON you are....

The temperature increase so far is just now measurable ... a single degree

The only actual warming in the actual data is from Urban Heat Island Effect

The entire rest of the actual data continues to read precisely

NO WARMING in the ATMOSPHERE
NO WARMING in the OCEANS
NO ONGOING NET ICE MELT
NO BREAKOUT in CANE ACTIVITY
NO OCEAN RISE
NO RISE in SURFACE AIR PRESSURE

= planet Earth is not warming and has not warmed at all in the past 100 years

Just imagine how much better the people of Earth could be had all those trillions of dollars, time and effort been directed to effectively help people adapt constructively to inevitable climate change.

Instead the climate religionists have confiscated the people's money, options, choices, opportunities in a futile effort to control the climate which so far has produced zero positive effect. And all that effort and all those resources most likely will turn out to be foolishly wasted.

Not to mention the mental anguish placed on our youth.

The damage to our youth is certainly high on the list of the cruelest and most damning, damaging facts of what appears to be the whole climate change hoax, i.e. intent to take over economies and control the people.

Convince youth who haven't experienced six or seven decades of weather that up and down changes are the end of the world.
