Clem Burke, drummer and 'heartbeat' of Blondie, dies at 70 from cancer​

"His legacy will live on through the tremendous amount of music he created and the countless lives he touched," Blondie said in a statement.
Clem Burke, drummer for the legendary rock band Blondie, has died after a private battle with cancer. He was 70.

Burke's Blondie bandmates, led by frontwoman Debbie Harry, remembered him as "the heartbeat of Blondie" in a statement shared on Monday. "His talent, energy, and passion for music were unmatched, and his contributions to our sound and success are immeasurable," Blondie said. "Beyond his musicianship, Clem was a source of inspiration both on and off the stage. His vibrant spirit, infectious enthusiasm and rock solid work ethic touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him."

I remember way back there, late 70's that he was a bit upset that Debra Harry was getting all the attention.
