Clay Thompson going to the Mavericks. Does that put them back in the Finals?

Apples and oranges really, consider the investment in Paul George vs. Klay Thompson. They got over $200 million in PG.
It's all about winning the East and especially beating Boston.

$211 Million for 4 years GUARANTEED. That's a lotta bucks for a guy without a ring. And Thompson won't have the pressure on him that George will.

The Sixers had the process. It was cut short at about 80% of it done from Adam Silver and Jerry Colangelo who replaced Sam Hinkie. From then on even after Colangelo and other GM's terrible decisions and stupid draft picks and decisions have occurred. Drafting Fultz. Drafting Mikail bridges and then trading him a minute later. Having to choose between Tobias Harris and Jimmy butler and choosing Harris. And there is more. Wrong decision after wrong decision. James Harden another one. They are sputtering and are now resigned to signing aging stars and hoping they help take them to the promised land. Joel Embiid has only a few years left in his prime. Hitting on a draft pick would help immensely. McClain the 2024 draft would help if good. Tyrese Maxey was one and he was taken 21st in the draft I believe.

Did you watch the Play In game with the Kings?
Klay did zip. Good luck Dallas if they can get 15 mpg out of him, which I doubt.
They said yesterday that last year he was injured and he felt slighted. Everyone else was getting paid not him. Then they talked about, do you pay a player for what he's done or what he's going to do?

I don't see him as being the thing that puts Dallas over the hump. Too many other good teams. For Dallas anything shy of a RING is a failure. And Klay already got his. This is a pay day. Oh he will try but hungry? Nah

The Clippers signed Harden to a 2 year deal. Paul George said he doesn't play championship team basketball. He's so lucky to get out of there.

Kings may get Ingram from the Pelicans. Huerter may gone from Sac in that possible dea.

What has Paul George ever done? Play slow? yeah. Chris Paul? never done anything. Teams bringing in these slow old do-nothings seem to be making huge mistakes. SD actually resigned that Harden cancer? lol! Washed up Klay Thompson? To do what? stand in the corner and jack up threes?

Harden reminds me of Anthony Davis. One game they are the guy, putting the team on their back. Next game they disappear.
Harden is a head case. He'll go down as a great one who never won. He had his chances. Just because you are great and you might be on what seems like a championship caliber team, there are like 20 other teams and who knows what will happen. I give a lot of credit to guys who have won 2 championships and I think how lucky guys like Giannis and Jokic are to have championships. Or Tatum. Boy, it must be great being one of those guys compared to Booker or Luka who are hoping to win at least one. Or Kyree. He's got one. Or Dru Holiday who now has 2. One with Boston one with the Bucks. Or Klay Thomson who has 4.

I also loved Big Shot Bob Horry because everywhere he went he won.

Khawi Leonard. Lucky bastard. How did Toronto win a championship? LOL

I would only reward a Klay or Harden or Chris Paul with winning. You get a basic salary and a big bonus if you make it to the play in's. The further you go the more money you make.

Keep in mind, it's not Chris Paul's fault he was on an inferior team. Harden too. They were clearly good. It was their teammates who sucked.

I was living near SF. I remember Harden seemed to be AVG scoring 40+ and HOU led vs. Golden State 3-1 or 3-2? Next thing you know it was Game 7 (after Harden was tearing them up in game 6). Harden actually seemed to throw game 7? He scored very low and had like 17 turnovers or something outrageous. He never got another chance that good. I always wondered if he took a payoff.

Harden was on a pretty good HOU team and screwed that situation up. Chris Paul? I don't remember? PHX? he sucks and he plays slow. No fit for todays games with 7' point guards who can outshoot his dumb rear end. My biggest pet peeve is those persons who buy in with anything the MSM drills into their heads....telling you day after day CP is halloffame. Paul George is top 10 NBA.....and people eat it up.

That reminds me of Chauncey Billups 2005. The year after they won. Should have been back to back. No way Chauncey made that many mistakes. Turnovers, charges, fouls, traveled, double dribbled, airballs.

OKC had Kevin Durant, James Harden and Russell Westbrook and got beat by Golden State when they held the series lead (not in the championship series)
I know. It pisses me off they didn't keep that team together. For years I felt like Durant was the best player in the league to have never won a championship then that pussy went to Golden State. A team that was already a champion. So it tainted his rings a little, but he was the MVP of the finals both times so there's that. He good.

Westbrook was a machine.

Paul Arizin, Bob Pettit, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O'Neal, Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry and Joel Embiid have each won the scoring title twice.

Harden was a 6th player of the year I believe. So he didn't even start on OKC. He wanted to go off and be THE star of the team. He was wherever he went but he never won it all, which is more important ask Joel Imbeed. He'd trade his MVP's and scoring titles for one ring.

I wonder if a bench warmer who wins a championship would rather win a scoring title or MVP? He would certainly be worth more than a bench warmer with a ring.
